The Devil's Sweetheart

''Well, we have a long history.'' Morvena chuckled and looked at the blemish mark on Leena's neck. She marched forward and whispered into Leena's ears as a provocation. ''He might be rough at times, at least he was when we did. I don't know about you, but you should at least cover them with a concealer.'' 

Her heart crumpled into pieces the second time. The most disgusting thing Leena heard ever. So they did it, and he doesn't remember a thing. Morvena knows Devin is her husband and still talked about their intimacy in front of me, his wife. Does this woman has little moral values? Is she really a doctor?

''Oh! Are you Devin's girlfriend?'' It was Tessa, whose gaze mocked Leena, peering her from head to toe. ''Of course, they know each other. For your information, Devin and Morvena dated in the past, if you don't know. He has come to the hotel to search for Morvena because she sent him the Birds of Paradise flowers.''

Leena covered her mouth at the shocking revelation. Tears brimmed in her eyes, threatening to fall, and how long she can hold them, she doesn't know. Leena heard from Harley that Devin got a panic attack again when he received the flowers. ''A_re you the one Devin first loved?'' She finally asked..no managed to ask with the inner turmoil she is undergoing.

''What if I say yes?'' Morvena asked with amusement dancing over her lips. ''Will you give him back to me? Will you give back my love?''

Morvena paused, and Leena's tear-filled eyes made her happy and somehow compensated. ''That was a stupid question to ask. You wouldn't give him back to me because you have fallen for him as well.'' 

''What do you know about him?'' Showing the camera, Morvena said with a scorning chuckle. ''Do you at least know he is a famous photographer? Everything he likes has become my hobby, including photography. I follow him everywhere on social media, at least to get a glimpse of his face. Madly in love with him for how long? I don't remember, and you.. you have come in the middle and took him away from me. Do you how painful it is when he didnot recognize me? Your happiness was supposed to be mine, but you snatched it. Go, and live the life with him which I am sparing it to you.'' Morvena bitterly said. Tessa could feel her friend's endurance reaching over the limits. Never had she seen Morvena lost the composure, and today's bombast proved how much her friend loved Devin.

Morvena is Devin's first love, but Devin doesn't recognize her. Is she saying I have separated her from Devin? But why did he lost memories of only a particular person? Is it her?

  ''Why doesn't he recognize you? Why did he lose his memories?'' Leena managed to ask the one question lingering on her head at last. 

''That's you to find out,'' Morvena said a matter of fact. Silence prevailed for a while, and without uttering a word, Morvena was about to leave, Tess interrupted. ''For your information, Devin is still searching for my friend, and once he finds his memories back, prepare yourself to leave him_''

''And who are you to say that?'' Morvena and Tess sharply turned to the intruder except for Leena. She is in no state to listen to anything. Her heart is crumpled. She was standing like a body without soul.

''Who are you?'' Tessa questioned with a frown.

''And who are you?'' Nick questioned back, gently held Leena's hand, and patted it to bring her back to reality. He had listened to everything that happened here, between the three women. Nick didnot understand much of it, but he grasped the essence. The blondie is Devin's first love which was hard for him to believe. As far as he remembers, he had never seen this woman with Devin. He has seen girls go fangirling over him, but directly claiming Devin as his love? 

How dare these people bully the great Leena taking her vulnerable situation for the grant. ''Listen to me..the two of you. I don't know who you are, but trust me, you are playing with the fire. If not, Leena is in her sane mind, you wouldn't be standing here. Glad that you didnot experience it. Get out of this place before I rip the two of you.''

''What did you say_''

''Tess.'' Morvena held her friend's hand. ''Let's go.'' It's not good if Devin comes here, and all the hell will break loose seeing this woman's cry. Pathetic woman! He is treating her as if she is the queen of his kingdom.

At the sight of their disappearance, Nick turned and gazed at Leena. The first time he saw Leena miserable was when Devin had an accident, and then today when she met the blondie. That stupid woman blurted out some nonsense into her mind. ''Leena, don't mind her words. She is lying. Devin has not loved anyone, and I assure you of that. I have never seen him looking at anyone with devotion with the way he looks at you.''

Had she not known about Devin's memories, Leena would have believed, but she knew it is no longer true. The fear which has haunted her finally has come back. Will Morvena come back again, or will Devin go back once he regains his memories? Then what am I to Devin? Will he leave me just like that? Leena closed her eyes. ''Let's go. Devin will panic.'' She said. ''Don't tell anything that happened here to Devin.'' 

''But he should_''

''Don't tell him, Nick. Please.'' Leena pleaded, almost begging. She doesn't want him to have another panic attack anymore. He already suffered enough, and she doesn't want to add additional burden to his plate.

''Alright,'' Nick agreed. He only agreed for now, but if it reaches out of his hands, he will have to talk with Devin. He has a gut feeling that the blondie would come back to create trouble. Leena is like a sister to him, and he will not let anything happen to her. 

Until evening Leena has to have her utmost willpower to control the urge to cry.
