The Devil's Sweetheart

''He hates dogs, but he changed.'' Without tearing her eyes away from Devin, Morvena uttered. ''Never have I seen him tending to a dog.''

Leena's world crashed like an earthquake.

With every footstep he took towards Leena, her heart was drumming, striking terror into the soul. Yet, despite the dreadful situation she was in, Leena couldn't help but recall Morvena's words to boot. How does Morvena know Devin's likes and dislikes? Even she learned about his fear of dogs when Devin first encountered Carrot face to face. He doesn't share his personals with the media either, and if Morvena knows about his likes, she must have known Devin quite well. And that's not the only thing bothering Leena. The utmost devotion Morvena was showing to Devin was not what she had expected.

''Leena, what are you doing here?'' The sudden loud and unexpected sound spiked her anxiety levels. Has he come here? Is he going to recognize Morvena? Leena raised her head and fearfully looked into Devin's eyes to see if he acknowledges Morvena, but Devin didnot even bat a look at the woman at once. 

''I_I was talking to a friend,'' Leena whispered in a trance without taking her eyes off Devin, and then she pointed her eyes at Morvena. ''She is Morvena_''

''Marja Morvena.'' With the usual haughty expression, Morvena put a stop to Leena's words as if she was thin air. Then, turning to Devin, she extended her hands towards him for a handshake, her face docile like deer now. ''Pleased to meet you.'' Finally, after a long time, she is seeing him close up. He has become more handsome, for she can't take eyes of those Hazel eyes. She has purposefully come to Amusement park to see Devin, and Morvena was delighted to see him from afar, but bumping into Leena was by mistake. Ever since she saw Devin acting lovey-dovey with Leena, her hatred for Leena only heightened. This woman is the dread of her life.

When Leena mentioned the name, Devin's eyes shifted to the woman standing in front of him with her extended hand. Devin outrightly pulled Leena by her waist without tearing eye contact with Morvena. ''I am sorry. I don't want to shake hands with anybody. I am caught up with the recent virus phobia. I hope you don't mind.'' Devin didnot miss the high-and-mighty expression when the blondie cut Leena off when she tried to introduce her to him. She can show arrogance in front of anybody, but to Leena in his presence? 

Standing next to Devin, Cutie internally giggled when Morvena's face looked like a crumpled lizard as she pulled off her hand in embarrassment. To further drive the pompous aunty away from her, Cutie tugged Leena's dress. ''Eeena, I want that.'' She pointed her finger at the bumper car's location.

''Leena?'' Devin called, tapping on her shoulder, and with Leena's unresponsiveness, he caught her hand and dragged her along with him without sparing a glance at Morvena.

Morvena clenched her dress until her knuckles turned white. If Enger has not threatened her with the secret she is desperately hiding from many eyes, Morvena wouldn't have given a damn about his stupid threats. She doesn't want to end up like her mother, a lab rat in the clutches of the wrong people. Giving one last look at the couple, Morvena turned her heels and left in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, while Cutie was stepping into the Bumper car with her partner Aunt Jalapeno, Leena couldn't help but look in Morvena's direction. Why didn't Devin recognize her? Morvena knows Devin, but Devin hadn't shown any sign of acknowledging her. Is she the part of his memory? 

''Leena?'' Devin called her, but there was no response again.

''Leena, what happened? You are zoning out again.'' Devin tapped her shoulder to bring her back to the world. She was fine before and after meeting that blondie friend of hers; she is in the middle-of-the-road since then.

''Am I?'' She responded, her mind still distracted.

He doesn't know what's bothering her, but Devin held Leena's hand and pointed to the cars to divert her attention. ''Let's go and ride the bumper car. You love that, isn't it?''

''I am just...I will be right back.'' She jerked off his hand and raced in the direction she last saw Morvena.

''Leena..wait..'' Devin called her, but she turned a deaf ear to him. Just then, Nick arrived after riding a Ferris wheel, and as he looked at the retreating figure, he frowned. What has got into her that she is racing like a lightning bolt.

''She is behaving weirdly today.'' Devin voiced his concern.

''When did she behave normally?'' Nick voiced his thoughts with a shrug. ''Don't get so worked up. I will go and bring her back.''

Meanwhile, Leena searched all the places but couldn't find the woman she is looking for. 

''Morvena, where are you...well..wait there..I will come back.''

At last, when she heard someone call Morvena's name, Leena's eyes sharply followed the girl's direction, and in no time, she found Morvena in the lounging area, capturing pictures of nature on her camera.

Leena slowly walked towards the woman. ''Morvena, can I talk with you for a while?'' 

Morven sharply turned around, quite surprised to see Leena here. ''What do you want?''

''I want to talk with you,'' Leena repeated.

''Talk with you? Why? To bear another insult?'' She then addressed her friend, who was looking curiously at Leena. ''Let's go, Tes.''

''Please, wait.'' Leena hastily held Morvena's hand to stop her, and the other girl, Tessa, Jerked her off. ''Didn't you hear? She doesn't want to talk.''

''Look, I don't know who you are. I am here to talk with Morvena. You better stay away.'' As much as Leena wanted to rip the girl's face off, she neither has the time, nor her brain is working properly.. Ignoring the leach, she turned to Morvena and questioned rather seriously. ''Do you know Devin before? Have you met him before?
