Chapter 153
153 A Chase (1)
“ROBUS, JUMP LEFT!”
Right after Blake gave Robus the command, Robus pivoted his feet and jumped to the left.
Just a split second after Robus changed his moving direction, a wall of darkness tendrils protruded from the ground on what was supposed to be Robus’ location if not for Blake telling the huge gorilla to jump away.
The flying humanoid demon didn’t expect such a thing to happen, but other than a slight hint of surprise on his face, the flying humanoid demon didn’t say anything else and continued chasing after the duo of the demonic beast and the humanoid demon.
Blake kept his eyes on the flying humanoid demon while his hands began casting more spells that were aimed toward the flying humanoid demon.
The runes for the darkness bullet spell were completed in just one second, and each of Blake’s hands was drawing one darkness bullet spell.
Two darkness bullets then soon manifested themselves and shot toward the flying humanoid demon. And this time, more than just a hint of surprise appeared on the flying humanoid demon’s face as he realized that Blake’s spell-casting speed was the same as his.
The flying humanoid demon easily dove down for a split second, letting the darkness bullets hit air before getting back up to regain his altitude before staring at the jet-black humanoid demon that had sent those darkness bullets.
“Where did you come from, little one?” The flying humanoid demon half-shouted to make sure the humanoid demon that was running some distance in front of him could hear what he said.
.....
The flying humanoid demon was sure that the jet-black humanoid demon that was on top of the gorilla’s back was able to speak, even as clearly as him.
Which means that the jet-black humanoid demon was most likely not a native of the first demon realm.
The flying humanoid demon began to remember whether anyone that came together with him had told him about other humanoid demons from the deeper realm would also come to the first demon realm with them.
But seeing that the jet-black humanoid demons’ wings weren’t even fully developed yet, the flying humanoid demon was confused by the identity of the unknown humanoid demon that didn’t fit any criteria between the residents of both the first realm and the deeper realms.
However, despite wanting answers, the flying humanoid demon got none, and instead received more darkness bullets.
“Don’t want to talk, eh?”
This time, instead of dodging the incoming darkness bullets, the flying humanoid demon had finished drawing another set of runes.
From his left hand, a darkness barrier formed and it was big enough to cover his whole body, making the darkness bullets that were aimed at him crash against the darkness barrier.
While his left hand was creating the darkness barrier, his right hand also made the same runes that Blake had drawn and the flying humanoid demon sent his own darkness bullet toward Blake’s direction.
“Slide right!” Blake once again instructed Robus to get out of the darkness bullet’s trajectory.
Robus did just that and the darkness bullet that was sent toward him missed and hit the ground.
And while Robus was dodging the darkness bullet, Blake sent another darkness bullet with his left hand while his right hand was casting his original marking spell.
With the barrier in his left hand constantly being supplied with nether, the flying humanoid demon didn’t even bother to think about dodging the attacks that Blake sent towards him and just used the barrier in his left hand to deal with them.
And as a result, the darkness bullet that Blake sent crashed and disappeared after smashing into the barrier while the marking spell latched itself onto the darkness barrier.
Being a humanoid demon mage himself, the flying humanoid demon of course noticed the mass of darkness element that had latched itself onto the darkness barrier on his hand.
However, not sensing any changes or damage caused by the small mass of darkness element, the flying humanoid demon decided to ignore it as he sent more spells in Blake’s and Robus’ direction.
He was already so close to Blake and Robus, and he only needed a little bit more push to finally reach them after the constant exchange of spells for the past 10 seconds.
However, the flying humanoid demon’s brain suddenly went into overdrive as he saw Blake’s hand drawing a complicated set of runes that he didn’t recognize instead of the usual darkness bullet runes.
The flying humanoid demon quickly scanned his surroundings to see what kind of spell manifested itself or where the nether would gather after Blake cast the spell.
However, the flying humanoid demon soon went into a hyper-alert state as he felt a very abundant amount of nether started gathering all around him.
And no matter how fast he moved, the abundant amount of nether seemed to have followed him everywhere, anywhere he went, no matter how high, low, fast or slow he got.
The flying humanoid demon still didn’t know what would happen, but feeling that amount of nether gathering around him could only mean anything other than good news.
So the flying humanoid demon ceased the attack spells that he drew with his right hand and also cast a darkness barrier with it, covering both his left and right side with darkness barriers that were huge enough to cover 80% of his whole body.
However, even the flying humanoid demon couldn’t have guessed that 80% protection was still not enough for what was about to come.
The air all around the flying humanoid demon began to tremble slightly as darkness spikes began to appear out of thin air, and they all stabbed themselves in the humanoid demon’s direction.
Or more precisely, the mark on the left barrier.
However, the flying humanoid demon didn’t know that and thought that all the darkness spikes were coming to stab his body.
So while doing erratic movements in the sky to try and get away from the darkness spikes, the flying humanoid demon kept his barrier up and spent a large amount of nether to keep the barrier from breaking with literal hundreds of darkness spikes abusing and almost breaking the darkness barrier every second.
