Chapter 104: Incoming Danger?

Chapter 104: Incoming Danger?

Meanwhile...

"T-the Sovereign's Vessel?" Elissa was rather doubtful about what she just heard from her friend. Just what was the relevance of it to their sufferings that the other party was talking about.

Elissa of course knew about the Sovereign's Vessel. In fact, those who had reached the same level as her would find it hard to remain oblivious to it. But why would the other party talk about it now?

"Yes," Charley replied seriously with a hint of anger. Even she herself didn't want to believe in it.

"Then?" Elissa couldn't make sense of what her friend was trying to say but nevertheless, she could feel a bad premonition from this as a certain individual finally entered her mind.

Elissa shook her head trying to chase away her thoughts as she was just hoping that her intuition was not right.

"It seems like you already realized it yourself" Elissa was still trying so hard to chase away her thoughts and that certain person who entered her mind when she heard her friend speaking again.

"What do you mean by that?!" Elissa could only frown.

Sigh.

"It's your other son." Charley didn't beat around the bush anymore.

"What about my son!?"

"The Sovereign's Vessel."

"What!"

Elissa shuddered from the revelation. It was only a hunch for her but she never thought that it was actually the case. She knew that that person who entered her mind or to be more precise, her son, was a monster. But she never thought that he would be so much of a monster to the point that even she herself was frightened.

What was Sovereign's Vessel? It was a body that could contain the power of the Demon Kings. It only meant that the one who had this body was able to use the power of the Demon Kings and then someday when it matured, it would be consumed by the Demon King itself.

Just by thinking how terrifying this Sovereign's Vessel really was, and the fate that would befall to the one who had it, Elissa could only grit her teeth in dejection.

But now, she would just find out that her son was actually a Sovereign's Vessel. Just what in the world was this?

Other than her younger daughter, she had twin sons. One was chosen by one of the Four Greatest Hunters, a Dominator's Vessel, while the other one was chosen by the Demon King, a Sovereign's Vessel. Just what were they trying to imply?!

"Don't tell me..." Elissa was still enraged at what she just learned when a terrifying realization dawned upon her. She felt lightheaded as she couldn't help but step backward to regain her balance.

"Yes, you guessed it right." Charley of course, knew what the other party had realized, and she wouldn't be so merciful to not confirm it. "They will soon consume each other, your sons, and the same went for my sons."

"H-how is this possible..." Elissa felt like the world had just befallen on her. What a heavy burden! It really was too heavy for her! Just what was it that she had done so evil to deserve something like this?

Ever since she was a child, all she experienced was sufferings even though she was just living happily and normally with her parents. And right up to till now, these sufferings were still clinging onto her, and was trying to claim her very few love ones one after another.

Elissa couldn't take it anymore. She cried. The wind ran on a rampage as the trees wanted to kneel. Dark clouds gathered around trying to condole her and were about to cry to accompany her in her grievance.

Elissa's body was now glowing in silver light. But before it could even form a pillar of light to strike the sky,

"Don't worry, I am always with you. We will overcome this together." Charley embraced her tight. She felt what the other party was feeling right now.

Immediately, the weather had calmed down. The dark clouds had dissipated and the angry wind softened. But the cries of Elissa didn't go away as she even cried out in her loudest.

Why was the world so angry at her? What was Bathala doing? Was He really only there to watch her suffer? This was unfair!

Elissa was helpless. She wasn't even allowed to fight her fate. The only thing she could do was to cry now and accept that fate of her.

Elissa knew full well that her memories about her eldest son would soon be forgotten. And they wouldn't know each other after then. So later on, when the fated time came, when her twins finally consumed each other, she wouldn't even be able to stop them.

Was this the reason why was their memories would soon be forgotten? Was it to prevent her to stop her sons from consuming each other? Or was there still other furious reason she had yet to think of other than that?

Elissa's cries went on for a good while as she leaned onto the embrace of her friend. Slowly, her cries had lowered, but the tears just kept coming down. She might only be a clone, but she had almost no different than the original. Her feelings as a mother didn't pale in comparison with the original.

And the clone knew that right now, the original had already learned about her furious fate and was now suffering. The clone was just saddened by the fact that right now, the original had no one on her side to lean on and to share her burdens with.

And Charley knew about it as well. But she couldn't do anything about it. She could just hope that her friend would be able to overcome this.

So then, after Elissa's cries had calmed down a bit, Charley spoke to her friend, "In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart, He has overcome the world."

"..." Elissa turned silent. And right now, even the original who was listening, had calmed down.

The clone of Elissa then released herself from her friend's embrace as she stared at the other party's eyes. Right after that, Elissa revealed a beautiful smile as if she was not hurt at all.

"Yes," Elissa responded. She even felt that her burdens had lightened a bit from the words of her good friend. "I too will definitely overcome the world!"

Even if she went against the flow of this world and faced against the flood, Elissa made up her mind that none could stop her. Even if the world went insane and gone mad at her, she would step by step, move forward.

Because she knew as well that she wasn't alone. Bathala didn't forsake her as He gifted her a good friend that would always be with her. It might not be physically, but Elissa could feel that they were always together with each other in their heart.

"Thank you, Charley, my only friend." Elissa smiled at Charley.

Charley on the other hand smiled at her friend as well but didn't say any more words.

Charley was just about to say that they must hurry back to meet her son when suddenly,

"What's going on?" Charley gazed in a certain direction as she felt something was wrong. She then worriedly shifted back her gaze to Elissa as she asked, "Did someone followed you here?!"

Only those selected people, who were permitted by the forest, could possibly be able to roam freely in this mountain range. And Elissa was one of those selected people. As for the others, they would find it hard to not be lost here no matter what rank they were. Not unless if the forest took a liking at them and allowed them to not be lost or they had someone who was selected by the forest accompanying them.

"Impossible!" Elissa immediately refuted. She made sure that no one in her Cosa Family had followed her.

But to what she was feeling right now, she couldn't help but think of that possibility as well. But why would her family target her friend's? It didn't make sense at all.

Elissa was still bewildered when she suddenly thought of something. She shuddered from that thoughts as she muttered, "Could it be that they were after the Sun Curse..."

"No way!" Charley was angered. If they were after her daughter, she must hurry back!

"Calm down! It's just a guess. Besides, don't you feel it strange. Although your little daughter's bloodlust was going on an errand, I cannot feel anyone from Cosa Family around." Elissa said, trying to calm down her friend.

Charley who was about to leave turned silent. Indeed, although she could feel Jade's bloodlust, she couldn't feel anything other than that. But what was her grandfather doing right now? How could he let her daughter become like that? Except...

"No way right?!" Charley became restless again. She just thought that Laude had just brought those assassins somewhere else and was currently fighting them.

Elissa also realized it as she shuddered and bit her lips. She thought that this was her fault for not being careful enough.

"Let's hurry!" Charley didn't say anything more as she hurried back and disappeared in the thin air.

"..." Elissa watched her friend leaving as she disappeared as well to follow her. No matter what, Elissa thought that she was responsible for this.
