Chapter 591 Blessing In Disguise?
"It would be the easiest to kill the Sun God to finish the territorial fights with him and the races that serve him, or am I wrong?" Dilan didn't really feel like thinking too much about the Sun God. He just wanted to eliminate the biggest threat that lurked around the flying islands.
It was time that his friends and family could take a deep breath and relax, even if it was just for a few days.
Maybe the relief of stress would be enough to rejuvenate them and let the effect of their high Tier and the massive amount of Essence within them work wonders! Dilan could tell that everyone had aged in the last 27 years despite constantly absorbing Essences, and advancing in the Tiers.
This was mostly due to the pressure and stress they faced on a daily basis in the last decades. Dilan wanted to relieve them from the stress by eliminating the most annoying threat.
However, the reactions he received were quite a bit different than he had expected.
"Nonono, don't kill the Sun God! Don't even think about giving it a try!" Marie jumped up from her chair, horror in her eyes. Her hands began to tremble as she imagined Dilan getting torn apart from the Sun God.
Marie had heard how Rory, Yvonne, Kathrine, and Victoria broke a bunch of bones in Dilan's body…by merely hugging him.
How was Dilan supposed to kill a literal God when he was not even strong enough to get hugged by a bunch of beauties?
Dilan, however, didn't really understand why his sister was so worried.
"There is no need to be afraid of the Sun God, Marie. From my understanding, the Sun God is just one of the weaker Lesser Gods, who is trying to strengthen his Divinity by spreading his religion. And even that doesn't seem to work very well. He is rather weak if he cannot defeat Rory after she received some of my Origin ability's powers, and he doesn't seem to have many connections either.
His territory cannot be considered large either…what the hell did he do in the last 27 years?!"
Dilan was pretty sure that the Sun God was an easy prey. If Rory and the other Demi Gods of the Undying Group had been more than enough to restrict him, he could do the same and much more.
At least that was something Dilan was pretty certain of.
"Let's just, hypothetically, say that you can defeat the Sun God. You seem pretty confident but your body broke apart as if you were made out of tiny twigs when we hugged you…Nonetheless, we can just take the hypothesis that you defeat him…what do you think would happen once the Sun God is dead?" Rory knew that Dilan was not the same person he had been before he left to the City of Trials.
That was only obvious, especially as someone who was connected to Dilan by her soul. She could easily tell that Dilan's Origin ability had changed, that it had evolved. The shreds of power she received from his Undying Origin ability were manyfold stronger than before.
This gave Rory a rough estimation of his Origin ability's true might, but it was only rough and not something she could be certain of.
Nonetheless, Dilan's stats and Tier hadn't changed a lot compared to before…so how was he actually supposed to defeat a God? There was a humongous difference between trying to fight a God while being a Tier-4 Mortal and coming out victorious against a restricted Mythical creature that had yet to become a Transcended while being at a lower Tier.
As if that was not enough, they didn't really have any means to weaken the power of a Lesser God, let alone do something against the annoying effects of the Sun God's Divinity.
It was only fortunate that Rory was a Red Dragon and that she could actually make use of the fire-attributed mana that was created under the influx of the Divinity. If not for her being a Red Dragon, the flying island might have already been destroyed, and every human soul eradicated.
"Well, after killing the Sun God, his underlings would probably scatter in all directions, scared witless thinking that I will obliterate them for the suffering they caused you guys. Afterward, the Sun God's territory will be empty and…" Dilan spoke, just to end up halting in his tracks when he realized something.
"And everyone will try to get their hands on the vacant land, which means that we might actually end up in a worse situation with more Lesser Gods bordering to our flying island.
So you might actually consider the Sun God as a blessing in disguise because he is only one troublesome character, something we could go up against for the last few years. We learned a lot and the casualties we have recorded for the last three years decreased drastically!" A new voice erupted from somewhere to Dilan's right side.
He had no idea who the woman was, but someone new had joined them. The woman had short brown hair, and brown eyes and she looked rather average, compared to everyone else in the room, that is. However, her appearance was not what was important. It was more the fact that she had entered the office quite a while ago without Dilan realizing it.
'Who the hell is that woman?'
Dilan knew what he was capable of…and even though his senses were much duller than they had been during his time in the City of Trials, it shouldn't have been possible for someone to enter the office without him realizing.
'Was I too focused on the discussions?'
In the end, Dilan shook his head and ignored the woman's sudden appearance. He would rather make sure that she would understand just how wrong her words were.
"The battle I witnessed a few days ago was not something Siegfried and his flying corpse could have countered, no matter what they would have done. They would have died if not for my interference…all of them would have died!"
