Chapter 218: Settling In the City (3), Food Wars Restaurant
Chapter 218: Settling In the City (3), Food Wars Restaurant
'That one food stall is cheap. Three different dishes for 1 Chaos stone,' Aleron's eyes sparkled, and he walked towards there. 'This person got 30 food dishes on the menu, dang.'
The food stall was a cart and crafted aesthetically using beautiful brown and redwood.
Aleron looked at the menu and ordered three dishes as the fishhead guy sitting at the table wrote his order down and passed it on to the chef in the cart.
One could see him cooking from the big window at the front. He was an octopus beastfolk and had five stoves before him, so he simultaneously cooked five dishes while his other tentacles cut vegetables and prepared other ingredients he brought out from a storage pouch as per the dishes ordered by customers.
'This guy is fast, alright.'
Aleron ordered a Spring-Bird Roll, Wonder Box Fried Noodles made of some meat and veggies, and an assortment of leaf-wrapped meatballs.
'This guy is fast.'
Aleron put away two dishes in his spatial storage and started walking while eating Wonder Box Fried Noodles.
'This tastes awesome despite being this cheap, so what the hell's with the price of those restaurants? Most of them sell a single food dish for 5 Chaos stones.'
[Gachapi: A single dish of theirs can actually make you super full and energized, not to mention some temporary buffs you gain. This is one of the reasons for the desire for food. Some established forces here have their own Mystic Chefs that cook dishes for their members.]
'But it should be the meat of powerful Chaotic Beasts. We didn't encounter them on the way here but saw a horde of flying Chaotic Beasts when we near the city.'
[Gachapi: The place where we came from was an empty one, and this city borders it. Once we leave the city and go anywhere, we'll encounter Chaotic Beasts and various chaotic phenomena that change the geography of certain spots and manifest random things.] 'Like?'n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
[Gachapi: For example, we are going through a forest, and suddenly, a 100-kilometer radius area in a forest would suddenly turn into a desert with strange structures and a new biome system along with suitable Chaotic Beasts. This happens regularly, and the scale of phenomena is random. It can be as small as affecting a hut or as big as thousands of kilometers.]
'Woah, that's chaotic. As expected of Choasverse, haha.'
Suddenly, Aleron's feet paused as he looked at a huge board displaying words. It was in a big restaurant that was round and looked like a small arena ground but had a tower atop it that branched externally like a tree's branch, where small open pavilions were constructed.
People ate in those open pavilions with a waiter on standby to get their order and bring food dishes.
'This place is luxurious, and but most importantly,' Aleron's eyes shone. 'I can get food here for free!'
[Astral: holy moly, that restaurant is perfect, Mastah! Let's kick some asses and get some food!]
[Gachapi: That...is indeed a wonderful place for us. Let's give it a try.]
Aleron strode towards the Food Wars Restaurant.
1. Win trials given by the restaurant and grab whatever food you like for free!
2. Challenge people who are in the Arena group. People in this group are willing to take challenges from each other. The loser pays for the food!
'Let's go,' Aleron entered inside and went for the Restaurant Trials first.
"Please come this way for the trials," a cat-eared girl led Aleron into the tower.
After entering an elevator and arriving on the 10th floor, Aleron saw many groups in the hall facing six different directions, facing six gates.
The hall had six gates from 1 to 6. The numbers also displayed the difficulty of the six trials, with 6th being the most difficult.
"Is there a limit on the trial attempts?" Aleron asked.
"No," the cat-eared girl shook her head with a smile. "You can challenge them as many times as you can. The highest difficulty trial gives you a six-hour coupon. You can eat for a total of six hours here for free. The hours will start after your first food dish arrives and will end after you finish eating."
"So I can visit multiple times with one coupon? That's nice," Aleron chuckled.
"Yes. Please enjoy, and good luck," the cat-eared girl bowed before turning around.
Aleron directly went towards the 6th gate, which only had one group.
The group had an old man whose strength he couldn't gauge and two people looking in their twenties.
"Elder Ken, do you think Kelarth will succeed this time?"
"No," the white-beared old man shook his head.
He glanced at Aleron, and a light flickered in his eyes. 'Interesting mystic path aura.'
Aleron didn't heed to the group and entered the gate. It was a portal-like gate, so Aleron found himself in a forest.
[Survive for 10 minutes or kill the 3 Hunter Rabits]
Right as Aleron heard the notification, danger bells rang in his mind, and he instantly teleported.
A thumb-sized bullet shot right where his head was, and a humanoid rabbit one meter tall with two pistoles in his hand arrived nearby.
'Hunter Rabit....these rabbits have stats as powerful as Clora,' Aleron wryly smiled. 'Since I was discovered, it's safe to assume they have a powerful detection ability and precise attack
abilities.'
'The other two Rabbit Hunters are same or different?'
'Fortunately, they can't sense me while I am in Spatial Room, but I can't maintain this for long. It's draining Chakra, and I would be empty after a minute. I can recover, but I'll need to
focus during that time, which I won't get.'
Aleron's eyes glinted. 'I can win by surviving. I have to kill them.'
...
"Tsk, I failed again."
"Hahaha, you lasted for over nine minutes, so I guess you were really close, Kelarth."
"Still, you two succeeded, but I lost even after three tries. Anyway, no more. I'll try it after
eating. Let's go eat."
"Wait," Elder Ken said calmly.
"What's the matter, Elder Ken?"
"I want to see if that kid that went in succeeds or not," Elder Ken answered.
"Uhh, but why? Was he something special?"
"Wait if you want to, or go ahead," Elder Ken calmly said.
The trio wryly smiled and shut their mouth as they obediently waited.
