Book 2: Chapter 8 (9/9)
The battle between a single Saint-tier Blood Mage and over three thousand magic casters lasted for more than thirteen hours. Etgar only has two Blood Pendants left while most of the magic casters showed signs of exhaustion as their mana pools were reaching depletion.
This Blood Mage is insanely strong. If it wasnt for our Light Mages kept casting [Mana Regeneration] spells on us, our magic casters would have their mana pools depleted a long time ago. Even so, many of our magic casters have died and been revived. If this keeps going on longer, all of our magic casters will be useless for a month. Lord Fasketel said to other Lords.
I havent seen this Blood Mage change any of his Magical Blood Equipment once. This is weird. Lord Bohdan Brish stated.
I have been thinking about that as well. Lord Fasketel said as other Lords agreed.
Despite seeing this odd thing, they couldnt just run away when facing the Guild Master of the Blood Mages Guild. This is an opportunity that they cant let go of.
The battle carries on for another twenty minutes when the Lords finally have to fight because all of the Members and Executioners of their Colors have their mana pools depleted.
They finally take action. Etgar thought to himself as he saw all other magic casters were forced to retreat while Lord Oleos Fosnes, Lord Gerda Mork, Lord Dasha Vaelbe, Lord Larissa Krasnaia, Lord Bohdan Brish, and Lord Wrenn Fasketel started casting their magic spells against Etgar. Similar to the other Saint-tier Members and Executioners, they couldnt use their powerful self-created Saint-tier magic spells to prevent the friendly fire (damaging allies with their magic spells) from occurring.
Friendly fire = accidentally damaging allies with their magic spells.
Their fight went on for about five minutes with the absolute defeat leaning toward Etgar. Their magical power is too strong for me at my current level. Etgar thought to himself.
Despite transforming into a Flesh Monster Vampire Lord, Etgar gained no advantage in front of these Lords of the Colors. Even when he used [Vampiric Clench] on one of the Lords, the other Lords would have cast powerful magic spells forcing Etgar to activate [Haze Mode] or got out of his [Vampiric Clench] range to avoid getting hurt.
One Blood Pendant left. Etgar thought as he smiled.
A powerful earthquake occurred suddenly and the Blood Mages Guilds secret hideout started to crumble. Just when the Lords of the Colors were wondering what was happening, the Members and Executioners of their Colors went back to report that the exit route had been sealed off by powerful Ice Magic that prevented them from escaping. Some magic casters recovered some parts of their mana pools but they couldnt destroy such powerful Ice Magic.
Lord Fasketel turned his gaze back toward Etgar and asked, Was this your plan? Sacrificing yourself to take down all of us?
Etgar smiled and nodded his head.
Your plan wont work then. My powerful Fire Magic can destroy the Ice Magic blocking the exit route. You on the other hand will be stuck here and die alone leaving all members of your Blood Mages Guild unprotected.
Etgar smiled and nodded his head again.
The powerful earthquake didnt stop, it continued growing stronger and stronger creating panicking among magic casters of the Mages Council as they saw the Blood Mages hideout crumbling.
Lord Vaelbe asked, What should we do? At this rate, all of us will die in here.
Other Lords turned toward Lord Fasketel for an answer as he was their leader. Wrenn gave it a quick thought and said, Lord Fosnes, you and your Members who can cast [Teleportation] need to do so immediately to bring as many people as you can to escape from here. Lord Mork, you and your Members will use [Ice Barrier] spells to protect as many remaining people as you can.
And lastly, Lord Vaelbe and her Members will cast [Circle of Protection] spells around anyone who wasnt being protected by [Ice Barrier] spells.
That sounds like a good plan, but Etgar wouldnt stand idly by letting them succeed. At this time, he doesnt mind revealing his power as a Blood Wind Mage. Etgar created four other clones of himself using [Replica] spells. Together with four clones, Etgar activated [Gust] spells, then casted [Gravity Manipulation] spells forcing all Legend-tiers and Master-tiers Members and Executioners of the Colors to kneel on the ground, preventing them from casting magic spells.
Wrenn knew what Etgar was going to do next, he yelled out loud, Lord Brish, cast [Warding Wind] spell now!
Bohdan is a Saint Blood Mage, he also knew what Etgar was going to do and immediately casted [Warding Wind] spell several times blocking five powerful [Sonic Boom] spells casted by Etgar. Good thing that Wrenn saw it coming and asked Bohdan to react or many of their magic casters would have died from Etgars attacks.
Lord Brish and Lord Krasnaia will keep this Blood Mage busy. I will destroy the Ice Magic blocking the exit route. Other Lords proceed as we have planned to protect as many people as possible. Wrenn said.
Wrenn started chanting for his Saint-tier Fire Magic spells while running toward the direction of the exit route. Larissa casted her Saint-tier Black Magic spells, and Bohdan casted his Saint-tier Wind Magic spells toward Etgar without worrying much about friendly fire knowing their Members and Executioners were being protected. If they keep on using weak Legend-tier Magic spells, this Blood Mage will continue toying with them.
Wrenn could hear loud explosions after loud explosions behind him, but he couldn't keep his focus off the main goal which was getting all of the magic casters out of here. Upon seeing the ice blockage blocking the exit route. Wrenn casted [Incinerate] to release a powerful explosion from his right hand. This explosion is super effective toward close-range attack before it is twenty times stronger compared to the explosion damage caused by the [Flaming Phoenix] spell.
Huh? What is going on? Wrenn couldnt believe that his powerful Fire Magic spell couldnt melt the ice blockage as he thought it would.
Wrenn was thinking to save his self-created Saint-tier Fire Magic spells until needed but it looks like he has to use it now. Wrenn raised both of his hands and casted [Fire Missile], a Saint-tier Fire Magic spell that he had created. One by one, flaming arrow subjects flew out of Wrenns hands. Each flaming arrow would explode three times stronger compared to [Incinerate] upon hitting the target. After eighteen [Fire Missile] spells were casted, the ice blockage was finally melted.
Wrenn quickly ran back to notify other magic casters only to find approximately seventy percent of them were still alive thanks to [Circle of Protections] and [Ice Barrier] spells. Etgar was pushed back by Larissa and Bohdan, but many magic casters have died from being unable to protect themselves due to their mana pools being depleted. The powerful earthquake and friendly fire caused by Saint-tier Magic spells casted by Larissa and Bohdan continuously killed more magic casters than expected. After Wrenn told them the exit route had been cleared, they immediately escaped while carrying as many fallen allies as they could.
Wrenn saw Larissa and Bohdan couldnt defeat Etgar but at least managed to push him back, he said, We needed to leave now!
What about this Blood Mage? Larissa asked.
Now that we know he is a Blood Wind Mage, the one that we were fighting at the beginning may just be one of his clones created by [Replica] spell. No wonder why we never see him switch out any Blood Equipment. Bohdan answered.
Wrenn said, Lord Brish is right. I suspected that as well after knowing he is a Blood Wind Mage. Continuing to fight with this Blood Mage wont result in anything. We must escape out of here right away.
