Chapter 273: Handyman Gel
Chapter 273: Handyman Gel
"How should we deal with these unconscious people?" Alice muttered as she looked around the main hall.
After Gel had successfully appeased Kamia, the group left the secret room and faced another problem as they returned to the main hall filled with unconscious people.
Aside from the main hall, there were also people on the castle's outside and upper floors. In addition, unlike the people in the main hall, Andusia didn't bother to knock those outside and on the upper floors unconscious again. So, those people should have more or less regained consciousness already. The only reason none of these people had come to the main hall was because they were still incredibly weak after having all of their mana drained by Andusia.
Currently, the only place in the castle that had recovered some mana was the secret room, which resulted from the blonde Demon King named Miliya using Mana Balancing on Alice's Burning Star. Everywhere else in and around the castle remained devoid of mana.
However, Alice believed that it wouldn't be long before people from outside the mana-depleted area would come to check on the castle.
After all, when Andusia drained the mana in the area, many people had been using their phones to either hold calls or host live broadcasts. When the mana in the area disappeared, these calls and live broadcasts had naturally come to an abrupt halt. This, in turn, was bound to attract attention.
"Have Gel take care of it. Isn't he the Heavenly King of Water's right-hand man? He should have some authority in the demon realm, right?" Andusia nonchalantly said as she sat on Alice's shoulder. "Just say that a failed taboo experiment caused this situation. With the Four Heavenly Kings' authority, it's unlikely that anyone would have any problems about it."
Gel's eyes twitched when he heard Andusia's words. When it came to authority among demons, who could possibly have greater authority than Alice and Andusia? Setting aside Andusia, Alice was the current generation's Demon King. Moreover, her identity was even known by the Four Heavenly Kings. So, if they were to bring up the topic of authority, shouldn't Alice have an easier time taking care of this problem?
However, Gel quickly came up with an explanation for this situation. It had only been several months since the new Demon King had appeared. On top of that, Alice was currently playing the role of the Gryffin Kingdom's princess. So, Gel concluded that Alice might not be aware of some of the demon realm's customs. Hence, she had left this task to him. After all, he was most certainly more familiar with handling matters in the demon realm than she was.
Regardless of whether others believed this explanation, Gel believed it. In fact, he refused to accept any other explanation. Otherwise, it'd be a big hit to his pride if he admitted himself to be nothing more than a handyman.
"Whatever you do, just make sure to keep my identity hidden, Gel. This shouldn't be difficult for you, right?" Alice asked while she crouched down next to an unconscious man. Then, while touching the unconscious man's head with her right hand, she continued, "These people are already unconscious, anyway. I also covered myself with a cloak when I arrived here, so nobody should know who was responsible for this situation. All you need to do is do some follow-up for this incident."

[Quality: Garbage]
[Effect: Strength +1]
[Additional Effect: None]
The man Alice chose to inspect had the best physique out of everyone in the hall. Since the strongest-looking demon was still unconscious, the other people in the hall should similarly be unconscious.
Although one couldn't always judge a person's strength by appearances since there would always be exceptions like Alice and Andusia, Alice felt that there shouldn't be such exceptions in the hall. If there were, she should have noticed when she was previously knocking these people unconscious.
"Let's leave, then."
After handling the arrangements of future affairs, Alice was ready to part ways with Kamia and Gel. Although Kamia remained reluctant to part with Alice, Gel had already promised that he would help her maintain frequent contact with Alice. So, Kamia had no choice but to hold back her reluctance and bid Alice farewell.
Kamia had grown up with her elder brother. So, she knew very well that throwing a tantrum wouldn't help her. The best choice she could make at this time was to be obedient.
Since Gel needed to take care of the follow-up matters in Demon King Castle, Kamia and Gel remained in the castle as they watched Alice and Andusia leave.
"It seems you really love your boyfriend, huh? Since when did you two even start seeing each other?" Gel suddenly asked when he turned to Kamia and saw that his little sister's gaze remained focused in the direction Alice had left.
Honestly, Gel couldn't help but feel depressed over this situation. Despite being Kamia's elder brother, he had failed to notice when his little sister had found herself a partner. Moreover, not only was the other party a little girl, but she was even the Gryffin Kingdom's princess and current Demon King...
Even until now, Gel still hadn't thoroughly wrapped his mind around Kamia's partner's bewildering identities. He also didn't know whether he should admonish his little sister. After all, what could he even say to his little sister? Should he tell her to consider the other party's identity before entering a relationship? However, no words could come out of his mouth when he recalled that Kamia's "boyfriend" was the Demon King.
The Demon King was the hope of the entire demon race. If even a Demon King wasn't worthy of dating Kamia, nobody else would be worthy.
"It's a secret."
Kamia stuck her tongue out at Gel, refusing to tell anything more to her elder brother. She had made a promise to Alice, after all. Although her elder brother had believed the "boyfriend" excuse she had used to bait him here, Alice had said to use this misunderstanding as a cover for their mother-daughter relationship for the time being. So, Kamia would naturally go along with Alice's wishes.
"Fine, whatever. A grown girl can't be kept at home... Since you've already made up your mind, I won't interfere too much in your relationship. All I ask is for you to keep yourself safe," Gel said, scratching his head in frustration.
Gel truthfully found it displeasing that Kamia had found herself a partner without his knowledge, the feeling similar to a father having the daughter he had raised for years getting stolen away. However, since the other party was the Demon King and didn't seem to mean any harm to his little sister, he decided not to interfere in Kamia's relationship.
Not to mention, Alice didn't need to take advantage of Kamia. Based on what he heard from Ellu Shax, Gel learned that Alice held a relatively good position in the hearts of the Four Heavenly Kings, all four acknowledging her identity.
This meant that Alice's status as the Demon King should be relatively stable. So, she should have no need to target the Four Heavenly Kings' henchmen to further her ambitions, and her relationship with Kamia might truly be a sincere one.
After breathing a sigh, Gel extended a hand to Kamia and said, "Kamia, lend me your phone. I'm going to give Lady Ellu a call."
Gel decided to call Ellu and inform her of what had happened at Demon King Castle. However, as the area was still devoid of mana, his phone couldn't connect to the internet. So, he had no choice but to borrow Kamia's phone, which Andusia had previously modified to be able to connect to the internet.
However, as soon as he extended his hand, Gel suddenly noticed something and hurriedly looked behind him.
"What's wrong, Big Brother?" Kamia asked as she curiously followed Gel's gaze.
However, aside from the castle's main hall and the unconscious people scattered across the hall, nothing else was behind Gel. The entrance to the secret room had also been returned to its original position. Moreover, Alice had also used Aspect Separation to return the magic array's concept to its original. So, others seeking to enter the secret room would have much greater difficulty now.
"It's nothing. I just felt like something had just run past me very quickly," Gel said, frowning. However, even after carefully inspecting the area with his senses, he still failed to find anything. "Maybe I was mistaken. I've been hung up over a strange order placed by someone from the human realm recently... Some person named Kris placed an order through the smuggling caravan for many bottles of demon realm air, and I can't figure out what the other party is trying to do with that air."
