Chapter 255: You Didn't Expect This, Did You?
Chapter 255: You Didn't Expect This, Did You?
Kamia was right. Her elder brother Gel was indeed very efficient. After learning that his little sister was in Demon King Castle, he had rushed over immediately.
For an accomplished spatial magician, Gel could travel across long distances swiftly and easily. Spatial magic allowed him to use Spatial Leap, achieving high-speed movement resembling the effect of teleportation arrays.
Coincidentally, Gel also happened to be doing some work in a branch shop in the Windy Kingdom. Otherwise, he'd have difficulty traveling across countries with his current abilities. However, if it was only crossing one or two cities, he could still barely manage it if he gritted his teeth.
However, when Gel arrived in Demon King Castle, the first person who entered his eyes wasn't Alice or Kamia, who were currently inside Grant's secret room. Instead, the first person he saw was Andusia, who was currently busy knocking people unconscious outside the castle.
"Hm?"
After the mishap with Kamia, Andusia had learned from her mistake and kept her senses heightened even when she was working. Meanwhile, with her perception as a Demon King, she could spread her senses to cover the entire castle and its surroundings. This allowed her to sense the changes inside the entire mana vacuum area.
Hence, when Gel entered the area with his body brimming with mana, Andusia promptly noticed his arrival. Moreover, based on the degree of instability of Gel's mana, Andusia could tell that the other party was seemingly in a hurry. This allowed her to quickly guess Gel's identity.
"That should be Kamia's elder brother, Gel Bifrons, right?" Andusia muttered with a raised eyebrow.
Andusia had grown a little curious when she learned about Kamia's elder brother. Spatial magicians might be rare, but it was still possible to find quite a few if she searched the entirety of the human and demon realms. However, a spatial magician capable of becoming the close aide of one of the demons' Four Heavenly Kings was a different story. A spatial magician would need to be quite powerful to gain a Heavenly King's trust, and spatial magicians of such caliber were usually exceedingly rare.
Moreover, Andusia could tell that Gel had indeed come by himself. He had nobody else around him, and neither did he use any modes of transport. It appeared that he had relied entirely on his spatial magic to travel to Demon King Castle.
Mobilizing the mana in her body, Andusia instantly disappeared from her location and reappeared in front of Gel. However, unlike Gel, Andusia did not move via teleportation. She had simply used mana to execute high-speed movements. Only, in the eyes of a person with average strength, Andusia's rapid movement was probably no different than instantaneous teleportation.
Meanwhile, after Gel arrived outside Demon King Castle, his first response was to frown and think about what was going on. Originally, he had been startled into rushing to Demon King Castle because his little sister had suddenly told him that she had found a boyfriend. However, after he had hurried over to Demon King Castle, he found that something was wrong with the castle.
This was because the outside of the castle was decorated with the bodies of unconscious people. Some of these people were still holding onto their phones and cameras, indicating that they were tourists visiting the castle. Moreover, after briefly scanning the area with his senses, Gel was certain that all of these demons were already unconscious.
On top of that, Gel also noticed that the entire area around Demon King Castle was devoid of mana. As an exceptional magician, Gel could naturally sense the state of the mana in this area. He also knew that this wasn't a phenomenon that the average person could cause, so he couldn't help but wonder if he had been tricked.
Could it be that his little sister wasn't here, and someone simply tricked him into coming here?
However, out of all the possibilities Gel had thought of, not once had he suspected that his little sister might have tricked him.
Gel trusted in his friendship with his little sister. Moreover, his little sister was a high-achieving mind magician. The average mind magician would have great difficulty manipulating her movements. There would also be no reason for mind magicians on the level of the Four Heavenly Kings to target her.
Of course, Gel could have never imagined that his little sister had actually been influenced by a taboo-level mind spell.
When Gel was hesitating whether he should call Kamia to ask about the situation, a small figure suddenly appeared before him. Immediately, he tensed up and took a step back.
Gel initially thought that someone had used spatial magic to teleport in front of him. However, he couldn't help but second-guess himself when he failed to sense any spatial fluctuations. Then, after taking a closer look, he realized that the figure in front of him was actually a hand-made model. Unfortunately, as Gel wasn't someone who liked watching anime, he didn't recognize the identity of this figurine.
Moreover, to Gel's surprise, this figurine behaved no differently from a real person. He could even see the lifelike expressions on the figurine's face, and the other party was seemingly looking at him with an interested expression.
"Gel Bifrons, right?" Andusia asked as she scrutinized the lanky man before her. "You must be here to meet your little sister, right?"
"That's right. Who are you?"
Although Gel didn't have any evidence, he suspected that he might have accidentally gotten himself involved in a serious matter. At the very least, he had never seen a figurine capable of such lifelike movements and housing such a large amount of mana.
Gel had seen magicians who would fight using puppets before. However, none of those puppet magicians could produce a self-aware puppet. After all, the topic of souls was a tricky matter. Even extracting a soul from a body was an incredibly challenging task, let alone creating a soul out of nothing. So, he had a hard time figuring out what was going on with the figurine in front of him.
However, no matter how this figurine was created, the person responsible for creating it definitely wasn't an ordinary individual.
"Your sister is here. Come with me," Andusia said, gesturing for Gel to follow her. Although she was curious to learn more about the spatial magician before her, Alice's matter came first.
Meanwhile, Gel hesitated for a moment before deciding to follow Andusia. Although he didn't know what kind of situation his little sister was in right now, if his little sister really was here, he definitely needed to go in and take a look.
Even if everything turned out to be a ruse and his little sister wasn't actually here, he was confident he could escape with his spatial magic.
Gel had previously visited Demon King Castle some time ago. However, he had left after failing to make any noteworthy discoveries.
After entering the castle's main hall, Gel saw Andusia flying to the pedestal, which used to hold the Radioactive Soul Stone, and injecting some mana into it. Then, he watched as Andusia moved the pedestal aside to reveal a hidden passage.
Gel's eyelids twitched involuntarily when he saw this. He wasn't aware that a passage was hidden in the middle of the castle's main hall.
Ever since the new Demon King destroyed the Radioactive Soul Stone, many people have visited Demon King Castle, including the Four Heavenly Kings. However, none of those people had noticed a hidden passage here. This situation further convinced Gel that the person behind Andusia wasn't an ordinary individual.
"Come. Your sister is down here," Andusia said before stepping into the passage.
Gel quietly looked at the dark passage for a moment. However, he didn't hesitate for long before following Andusia into the passage.
After walking down a flight of stairs, the two arrived in front of the entrance to the secret room. When Andusia opened the doors to the room, Gel got to see the whole picture inside the room.
The secret room underneath the castle's main hall looked like a magic workshop. There was a large bookshelf on one side of the room and some tables and chairs on the other side. There was also a large experiment table situated in the middle of the room.
In addition, there were also a bunch of magic tools piled up in the corner of the room. When Gel spread his senses to those magic tools, he could feel that every one of these tools contained a large amount of mana. Although they weren't at the level of Artifacts, they should still be excellent magic tools. Yet, these supposedly excellent magic tools were casually piled up in the corner like garbage.

After glancing at the magic tools, Gel noticed that aside from Andusia, two other people were in the room. Among them, one was his little sister Kamia. Based on the familiar mana he could sense from her, he was certain that the other party wasn't someone disguising as his little sister.
As for the other person, the other party should logically be the "boyfriend" that Kamia had mentioned. While making his way to Demon King Castle, Gel had originally been prepared to teach the despicable bastard who had dared to seduce his little sister a good lesson.
However, after seeing the other party's appearance, Gel couldn't help but be stunned.
