Chapter 187 Chasing
Aion's attack had been so intense that some buildings nearby got some cracks due to the tremor. The dust curtain was so thick and large that no one thought of approaching. Someone with that much punch power couldn't be taken lightly.
The soldiers began to surround the dust cloud, but even before that could happen, some of the people noticed that the group had vanished. They looked around in shock and anger.
"Bring the bloodhounds and Bloodbees! The enemies have escaped, but they must be around!" Someone shouted.
It was fortunate that they didn't even think that Aion and the others were flying above the capital. Or maybe they considered that since they called the Bloodbees… that was a type of creature that Aion had never heard of before.
"Are you all right, Aion?" Sauros asked. "Your face is blue."
"I am completely fine," Aion said.
"You are also sweating cold," Seris said.
"It must be the chilling wind of the night," Aion said.
Truth be told, breathing alone was enough to make Aion feel like hundreds of needles were piercing his arm. He was healing it, but Aion lost twenty percent of his total health, and that damage was on that arm alone. It would take a while to heal it.
In any case, they were in a hurry, so they left the capital quite fast, but then the monsters under the enemy's control finally caught sight of them. They were high enough for humans not to see them, but it would be better if they landed and didn't let the enemies think that they could fly like that.
"We are going to land on the fields ahead," Aion said. "The area is pretty dark, but the enemies are getting horses to catch up to us."
"I can make my magic improve our running speed. We will get tired faster as well, though," Seris said.
"Use it. We can't let them surround us," Sauros declared.
Running with the necromancer wasn't a good idea, so Aion changed it to Spearman, and then Seris touched their shoulders when they landed. Their bodies began to move faster than before, but Aion only noticed his legs changing. That kind of magic probably is too hard to control when it is used to buff an entire body, so she focused only on the lower half.
Some bloodhounds finally could see the group, but they were unable to catch up. However, the blood bees were another matter. They flew quite fast and targeted Seris' head, and Aion swung his spear with lightning speed and then split them in half.

"For how long this will… ah, ten seconds," Aion said.
"I can keep using this on myself freely, but on you two…" Seris said.
"Let's use it sparingly," Sauros said. "I saw two of the generals near the barrier, and I don't know if the blast of the attack actually wounded them, though. They might catch up to us pretty soon."
Aion wouldn't mind fighting them. If they are strong enough to put his life at risk, they will be a great addition to his army of death knights. It was a pity that he couldn't use them whenever he wanted… he had already revealed some of his powers. Still, Aion couldn't go too far and ended up making all sorts of people wary of him. Even more so on that kind of mission where he was picking a fight with many groups.
Just as they had expected, a lot of horsemen began to chase them, and some were quite big. Aion imagined that the generals were among that group. Still, to think they would need horses to catch up… they were being careful, or they were nothing special.
When some of the bloodhounds got close to the horsemen, Aion turned around for a second and then used Double Shot. The two monsters weren't killed, but the pain they felt made them stumble and hit some of the horses. Aion turned around with his spear in hand already and then dashed and easily caught up with the others.
"While that was nice, we can't keep fighting them like this forever," Sauros said.
"Of course, we can. You just have to keep your pace," Aion said. "Leave those morons to me."
"You forgot what I said earlier?" Sauros asked. "The generals will keep sending their minions to tire us out and learn our skills. There is a group behind that isn't approaching or going away, and they must be there…"
Aion looked backward for a short while, and he confirmed that such a group was there. They couldn't see each other clearly, but what they were doing was obvious. Aion wondered if he could target their horses with a charged Power Shot, but he couldn't move while doing that. He would need an earth platform…
"We need to get rid of the monsters and then create a diversion to escape," Seris said. "I can't focus on using attacks now that can kill the monsters, but you can leave the diversion to me."
More Bloodbees were approaching, so it was hard to imagine that they would be able to pull that off so easily. Aion could try to tame all the monsters, but that would be way too suspicious. Still, he had another idea… When several of the bees approached them, Aion split two of them with his spear and stabbed the other. Soon after, he swung his weapon again, but he sent the body flying to that group of horsemen using wind magic.
The body flew at super Sonic speeds, but the corpse was split in two even before it could reach one of the targets. Not even Aion saw what had happened, but it was clear that one of the generals showed their power…
"They will be worth adding to my collection… still, I wonder if the assassin woman is among them," Aion thought.
