The Messenger of Death

Chapter 233: overjoyed

Chapter 233: overjoyed

"Argh!" the guy that was about to attack Alex gave a short grunt when his hand was frozen and broken off his shoulders.

Xander, who just realized what had happened, didn't flinch or act like he was scared. And in truth, he wasn't scared, after all, he had Nana there with him.

"What do you think you are doing?" Nana asked. When she spoke, her voice sounded menacing to everyone that heard it. She was furious that someone as strong as this man almost attacked her disciple.

This man was tightly clad in a blue robe and had an oval-shaped face with a thick mustache.

If it was someone of the younger generation she wouldn't have gotten this angry, but the person that attacked Xander wasn't someone of that category.

This man that almost attacked Xander could recognize the voice that asked him that question. Immediately, he fell on one knee.

"Greetings, Mistress Natalia." He said respectfully.

"Keep your useless greetings to yourself, why did you attack this boy?" Nana dismissed his courteous act.

"I suppose you already know why. Since you are here. This boy has the hairpin and he is shamelessly wearing it. This is a pin that is valued very much by the clan, so much that the elders don't even dare to touch it, yet there is an insect that had the guts to wear it.

I couldn't stomach the insult that this insect- argh!"

While speaking, the ice in the man's frozen shoulder started to grow. This was Nana's doing, she didn't like the fact that this person was calling her disciple an insect.

"His name is Alexander, and the next time that you call him something other than that I will make sure that you regret being born." Nana threatened.

"Young Mistress?" The guy was in a daze. He knew that the youngest daughter of their clan chief was very irrational and didn't care for many people, so he didn't make anything out of the attack that she inflicted on him.

But now, right in front of him, she was threatening to kill her clan's man for another person that knew nothing nor was he a member of their clan. This confused him a bit.

"Who do you think gave the hairpin to him?" Nana questioned.

She knew that her clan's men would be able to tell that she was the culprit. Whenever she returns to the clan she causes some kind of trouble, and whenever she was leaving she did the same.

It's just that what she did this time is a little bit too much in the eyes of the elders in her clan. Because of her parents and her grandfather most especially, they could look the other way when she caused troubles.

But this time, after the series of events that followed behind her act of stealing the hairpin, this wasn't something that they could turn a blind eye to.

"If I had to make a calculated guess, I will say that it was you." The man answered. The ice that was on his shoulder was still spreading. It was freezing the insides of the man slowly, corroding him slowly like a parasite.

The veins on his neck were turning blue as time went by and it was visible to the eyes. Since he fell on one knee, Nana locked him there with her telekinetic ability and he hasn't been able to get up.

"I thought it was already obvious and yet you still have to make a calculated guess?" Nana scoffed.

The reason the man put it like that, was because he didn't want to make any insinuation or put the blame on her.

He knew that she wouldn't kill for no reason, and he didn't want to give her any type of reason for her to do away with his life.

"Anyway, I did expect you guys to find out about this pin missing, I didn't expect it to be this early. What was the cause?" She wondered.

"You do not know what your disciple did?" He used almost everything that he had in him to raise his head and looked up to Nana. He wanted to know if she was pretending to not know.

"What did he do?" She raised one of her brows as she turned and looked at Xander, wondering what he could do that would attract the attention of her clan faster than she expected.

"He offended one of the sons of the Emperor." The man revealed.

Nana was thrown off for a second there.

"How is that possible? He hasn't been to the celestial plain realm yet." Nana frowned her face slightly.

"Yesterday, the Midas seed carriers came to the ordain plain realm in search of the petal. Before the search could begin, they encountered an anomaly with a class-1 primordial beast bloodline that could bypass the preventive measures put in by the guardian of the petals.

This inse- this person Alexander, is the anomaly that was able to bypass the preventive measures. He fits the description perfectly." The man revealed.

'A class-1 bloodline bearer?' Jacob thought as he looked at Xander with more respect now. They too knew that a class-1 bloodline bearer might as well mean that the person was royalty. After all, they are at the top of the food chain when it came to bloodlines.

This information of Xander being a class-1 bloodline bearer made most of the people around wary of him now. This alone was enough to make many of them fear him without Nana's backing.

"Are you trying to play some kind of weird game with me?" Nana uttered coldly.

She knew what it meant to be able to do something like that. Many extremely strong people in the past had tried to get their hands on the Midas petals. Those of them that failed to pass the requirements of being a carrier of the Midas seed.

They tailed the Midas seed carriers and at last, they were always stopped by a barrier that they couldn't get past no matter what they did.

Even Nana knew that no one in the celestial plain realm could bypass that barrier, and if there are people that could bypass the barrier in the celestial plain realm, they would be cultivators from a plain realm that is above the celestial plain realm.

"No, my Lady. I dare not play games with you as my life will be on the line if I did." The man quickly interjected.

Nana turned her gaze to Bobby and Klein. She saw that the two of them were already sweating profusely. They looked like they were on the verge of tears.

Suddenly the two of them dropped to their knees and began confessing.

"Forgive us Mistress Ice. It was our fault. While we were traveling with the young master, we came across a barrier that only he could pass. We tried everything that we could to try and get past the barrier but nothing worked.

When we found out that we couldn't get through, we begged the young master to return, however, he flipped his middle fingers at us and left us there. We wait there until he returned." Klein rattled with a shaky voice.

Hearing what his disciple was saying, Jacob could feel his heartache to the point that he thought it was going to burst.

"If I may add, he came back unharmed and not a hair out of place." Bobby made sure to emphasize the fact that he came back unharmed.

Nana turned and faced Xander, "Is what they say true? You can bypass the barrier?" She asked.

At this point, Xander had no intentions to lie to Nana about this matter anymore. "Yes, due to some special reasons, I can bypass the barrier." He answered truthfully and neither Alex nor the rest reprimanded him for his decision.

"Really now?" She frowned after she heard his answer.

['Her expression doesn't look encouraging.'] Al commented.

['We might be in big trouble.'] Alex added.

"Tell me, did you at least see the petal?" She questioned. Nana thought that it was the most that he could do. She had heard stories about the guardian of the petal, and she knew that he wasn't going to let anyone that is not qualified take the petal away.

She couldn't believe that her disciple was capable of obtaining it. If he could have seen it, then she was going to commend him and maybe reward him.

"He did not only see it, my Lady, but he also took the petal away and the guardian let it happen. That is what the prince said." The man answered that question.

Nana was stunned to hear that, immediately she asked Xander via voice transmission if it was the truth.

"Yes. I still have the petal with me, I haven't taken it." He replied.

"Hahaha!!" Nana started laughing maniacally. She was overjoyed to hear this. "Who would have thought that my disciple would screw a lot of people over, Hahaha!!!"

"Disciple?" the man that tried to attack Alex repeated. Now he just realized the magnitude of his previous action. He almost attacked her disciple, this was more than enough reason for Nana to kill him.

He could feel the impending death that was looming above his neck.

"Now I know why this fool came for you, the royal family is trying to blame my clan and my clan wants to use you as their shield. But what they didn't know is that the person that they are trying to use is my disciple" She paused and released the man from her restraint.

"Impossible, go back and tell those old farts that they can keep on dreaming," Nana said to the man. "And tell them not to set their eyes on my disciple, or else, there would be a bloodbath." She added
