Chapter 185
The Monthly Competition covered a lot of ground, but it wasn't too difficult.
It was just a matter of taking the usual training content and starting the competitions organized by race.
Ren Yunying brought them to a training room.
Shooting, weightlifting, horizontal bars, running, and stealth.
They went through each event.
The Elf Race won the shooting, the Werewolf Race took the weightlifting championship, the Human Race won the horizontal bars, and the Vampire Race swept the last two events.
Based on the scores, the Vampire Race ranked first, followed by the Elf Race, then the Human Race, and finally the Werewolf Race.
When Chloe first heard this news, the Vampires were so excited that they ran three laps around the training field.
Ever since Chloe left them to participate in the Joint Military Academy Competition, they hadn't won first place.
This was the first time in months.
How could they not be thrilled? Of course they would be!
Chloe stood on the viewing platform above the training field, sucking on a lollipop, leisurely watching her clansmen revel on the field.
Beside her were the boisterous Qin Huaibei and Daniel, as well as the quiet Anderson and Katherine.
Chloe shook her head as she watched her clansmen going crazy with joy below:
"They're so happy even though they won the competition, but why did they slack off so much when I wasn't around?"
She turned her head and asked Anderson.
Anderson pondered for a moment, then replied, "Perhaps it's because they've never experienced it before. Now that you've led them to victory, Miss, maybe they'll change for good?"
Upon hearing this, Chloe sneered and rolled her eyes:
"I don't believe it."
These stubborn little Vampire brats still need more discipline.
They act one way when you're around and another way behind your back. More training is required.
After the Monthly Competition came their Family Visit Day.
Apart from the Vampires, the juveniles of the other races began stretching on the training field.
No one wanted to go wild at home and then return to the academy only to have to run again.
Their condition would probably be as frail as a piece of tofu just pulled out of the water.
So they might as well run a bit now, as the terminal would record their laps.
The more they ran now, the easier it would be when they returned to the academy.
The little Vampire brats, influenced by Chloe's delinquent ways, stood by the track taunting the other races.
After one lap, the Human Race, Werewolf Race, and Elf Race all rushed up and started fighting with the Vampires.
The juveniles held back a bit, just fooling around, so Chloe and the others didn't intervene.
Chloe tossed the lollipop stick into the trash.
It was now evening, and the open-air training field was bathed in a yellowish hue. The viewing platform was relatively high, affording a clear view of the sun setting on the horizon, its golden rays piercing the heavy clouds and emerging with a softer, gentler glow.
A breeze blew, causing Chloe's hair to sway slightly.
Chloe and Anderson were playing rock-paper-scissors, with the loser having to make handicrafts for the winner for a week.
It was a game they had played since childhood, and the only one where Anderson never let her win.
This time, Chloe lost, and as she was considering what handicraft to make, she heard Qin Huaibei smugly say beside her:
"You think I'm a foster kid like you? No! On Family Visit Day, I'm going to Chloe's place to play."
Daniel hesitated, then said, "There's nothing fun at the Vampire Territory."
Qin Huaibei retorted immediately:
"Chloe said that when I visit her place, she'll prepare a full-course Chinese feast for me every day, with lobsters, abalones, and all sorts of delicacies. There are also limited edition weapons and clothes. Her estate is huge, big enough to park an airplane. Chloe said she'd take me for a ride on her private jet."
Chloe: "......"
She had never said any of that.
"What nonsense are you spouting?"
Qin Huaibei didn't feel the least bit guilty as he looked straight at Chloe: "Isn't it true?"
Chloe was at a loss for words.
After all, her family's lifestyle did seem to be like that, and having Qin Huaibei over wouldn't make any difference.
Chloe's silence instantly ignited Daniel's fuse, and he shouted:
"That's not fair! I want to go to your place too!"
Chloe was about to speak, but Daniel immediately cut her off:
"I'm a foster kid too!"
Chloe: "......"
She sincerely admired him:
"To be able to say you're a foster kid so naturally, you're quite something."
Daniel smiled: "You flatter me."
"So will you let me come or not?"
Chloe popped a candy into her mouth: "You can bring your whole family if you want to come play."
Daniel immediately gave her a thumbs-up.
Then he calmed down, looked at Chloe, and earnestly advised:
"By the way, you should eat less candy. You already have no teeth."
Chloe: "......"
She gritted her teeth: "Do you want me to beat you up before you'll shut up?"
Daniel snickered and dodged her attack.
But he couldn't avoid her forever, and Daniel ended up getting thoroughly thrashed by Chloe.
He sat back down beside Qin Huaibei, rubbing the lump on his head with a sullen expression.
Qin Huaibei glanced at him and sneered, "How pathetic."
After beating Daniel up, Chloe felt refreshed. She patted Katherine's shoulder and smiled, asking, "Want to come to my place?"
On Family Visit Day, the Elf Race wouldn't welcome Katherine, and with all the academy students gone, Katherine would be left all alone, which wouldn't be any fun.
Chloe had been planning to invite Katherine over to play since before she got word of Family Visit Day.
Katherine's eyes flickered, and she smiled: "Sure."
As the sun gradually set, the dim light from the front cast a lively silhouette of the five juveniles.
Chloe and Anderson continued playing rock-paper-scissors, Daniel and Qin Huaibei were wrestling, and Katherine had a delicate pink flower blossoming from her fingertips.
They leaned on each other, feeling relaxed and happy, occasionally peeking over and chatting, then bursting into giggles.
......
"I really don't understand why your luggage is always so much."
Daniel glanced at the two large suitcases Chloe was carrying and the three large suitcases Anderson was dragging, marveling at the sight.
"What do you have in there?"
They had reached the outer airport of The No.1 Military Academy, where several planes were parked, waiting for the juveniles to board.
Qin Huaibei and the others didn't return to their own territories, instead mingling with the Vampire group, unperturbed by the stares from the other Vampire juveniles.
Chloe sat on her suitcase, legs crossed and swinging back and forth. Upon hearing his words, she raised an eyebrow:
"What, you want to see?"
She blinked her eyes: "Actually, there's not much in it. A pillow takes up one suitcase, and the rest is mostly skincare products and clothes."
Mentioning the pillow, Qin Huaibei immediately thought of that skull pillow.
He pulled Daniel, who still wanted to ask more, away from Chloe.
It's a good thing the Human Race didn't have such weird pillows.
Amid the commotion, the cabin door opened, and the young ones swarmed in.
A few planes left the island where The No.1 Military Academy was located and flew off in different directions.
