Chapter 75: An Encounter With Another Ghost (2)
There was no one. It seemed that the knocking on the door before was just their imagination.
The lights were on in the corridor, and it was brightly lit. Even the air seemed to be still.
Ye Sui lowered her head inadvertently and found a letter lying in front of the door. Its envelope looked somewhat yellowish.
When Chen Shu bent over to pick it up, he was immediately stopped by Ye Sui. “Wait! I’ll bring gloves.”
The scene just now was too strange. What if there was something dirty on the envelope? What would she do? She didn’t want Chen Shu to take risks.
Ye Sui put on rubber gloves and awkwardly opened the envelope. As soon as she did so, she exclaimed and threw away the letter in her hand.
Only one sentence was written on the white paper: “Help me.”
These characters were not written in ordinary ink but in dark red color. The words were reflecting on the paper, so strong that they could not be dissolved, as if they were written in blood.
Chen Shu frowned and picked up the paper on the floor. Ye Sui immediately grabbed him and stepped back subconsciously.
“Don’t pick it up; I’ll throw it away.” Ye Sui’s tone was a little flustered.
Ye Sui was afraid that Chen Shu would do something stupid. She endured her fear and quickly threw the letter and envelope into the trash, tying the garbage bag tightly.
Looking at Ye Sui worriedly, Chen Shu suggested, “I’ll go to the security room to check things out. You wait for me at home, and don’t open the door.”
Ye Sui hurriedly shook her head. “No, no, I want to go with you.”
Ye Sui didn’t want to stay at home alone. She put on a big scarf, followed Chen Shu closely, and went to the security room together.
The security guard in the control room recognized Chen Shu. He only roughly remembered that this young couple had moved here recently.
Chen Shu directly asked, “Can you take a look at the surveillance around 7:50 pm?” When opening the door, Chen Shu had paid particular attention to the time.
The guard replayed the surveillance as he asked. Chen Shu and Ye Sui leaned slightly together and looked closely.
“Stop here.” The video was still, the time just pointing to 7:49. There was no one in the hallway, and no figure even passed by.
Then the video started playing. The next second, the door opened, and Chen Shu came out from inside. There was no one outside.
Chen Shu: “Can you look back again?”
At 7: 49, both Ye Sui and Chen Shu noticed that an envelope had appeared out of thin air on the ground.
The couple looked at each other and did not speak. They also did not elaborate it to the security guard, just casually finding an excuse to leave the security room.
“No one put it, right?” Ye Sui said in a low voice in the elevator.
Chen Shu looked at Ye Sui. She did not dare to leave him by even half a meter, standing firmly beside him.
Chen Shu narrowed his eyes. His voice turned soft and soothing. “If you are afraid, you can come to my room at any time.”
“I’m used to it, don’t worry.” Having her thoughts read, Ye Sui spoke stiffly.
When Ye Sui returned to her room, Chen Shu’s eyes first stayed on Ye Sui’s closed door for a while and then went to his study room.
He had much to do tonight and would be awake all night. If Ye Sui was scared, he would find it in time.
At 3:00 am
Chen Shu’s study room was still lit, and Ye Sui had already gone to sleep. Since he was at home, she was not as scared as before.
Knock, knock, knock-!
On the top 14th floor, a window was knocked. No one expected someone to knock on the window from the outside. Hence, Ye Sui did not open her eyes. She just rolled over and continued to sleep.
Knock, knock, knock-!
It seemed that someone continued knocking on the window without minding the time. With the sound of knocking, the window also vibrated slightly.
Ye Sui woke up instantly. The incomer outside saw Ye Sui wake up, and suddenly, the knocking on the window became louder. The window was even opened up a slit, and the wind rolled up the curtains.
Ye Sui immediately got up from the bed, and subconsciously shouted, “Chen Shu!”
