The Birth Of A Villainess

Chapter 196 - Medicine For Stupidity (1)

Early in the morning the next day, Princess Zhou visited her older sister, Princess Gao since she was bored of waiting for the result of what they had done.

"Sister, is there still no news about that old man?" Princess Zhou asked hurriedly as soon as she entered the threshold of the Crystal Courtyard where her older sister was staying.

At this time, Princess Gao should still be tucked in her bed asleep, however, that day was slightly different as the older princess was already sitting on a chair and admiring the flowers before her.

Turning her head in the direction of the young princess, Yu Yan Fei frowned, "Don't ruin my morning by starting with your loud mouth, Ah Lu."

Princess Zhou, whose given name was Yu Ah Lu, pouted but kept her mouth shut. She looked around her and stepped closer to her sister before speaking in a hushed tone, "But this is your courtyard. No one is stupid enough to go against you. Besides, am I the only one worrying about what happened? Of what we did?"

"I am also worried." Yu Yan Fei waved her maids out of the room and looked at her sister, "But worrying will only make me feel like a loser. And there should be good news coming sooner than later.."

"What do you mean?"

Yu Yan Fei stood up from her chair, avoiding her younger sister's outstretched hands as if they were to hold onto her for comfort.

Then she headed where the cupboard was and leaned her back against it.

Crossing her arms across her chest, she said, "I already sent someone to see what's happening in the Lin residence. I'm only waiting for that person to c-."

Just before she could finish her word, a maid announced herself. Princess Gao smiled immediately and said, "It seems she has arrived."

Wondering who was this mole that her older sister has sent to the Lin family, Princess Zhou looked at the door that was slowly opening to reveal the maid.

Having seen the maid's face, Princess Zhou laughed happily.

"Your highnesses." The maid bowed down to the princesses respectfully.

Princess Zhou walked towards the maid and asked suddenly, "What happened? Did you succeed? Did that old man die?"

The maid's eyes slightly flashed in shock at the question. But one look from Princess Gao and the maid erased whatever was inside her mind. She was there to report. Nothing else.

"Your highness is correct. General Lin is now standing before death, waiting for his last breath. The Lin family is also panicking now." The maid said.

Upon hearing that from her, both princesses didn't hold themselves from smiling brightly at the good news.

"Good. That's good." Princess Gao breathed in relief as she felt a rock was finally out of her chest.

However, she seems to be not satisfied with what the maid's said as she hurriedly asked, "What about that slut? Did she arrive in time to see her grandfather in that state?"

"Yes, princess. Miss Lin Xiaofei was there when it happened and she's greatly affected by what happened to the general."

Of course, the woman the princess just called a slut was none other than the fourth young miss of the Lin family, who was now the bride of Duke of Xin, Qu Xing Xu.

"That's great! That'll show her not to act up and try to dream about marrying brother Qu Xing Xu!" Yu Ah Lu never liked Lin Xiaofei and after hearing from her brothers that the man she admired was now engaged to someone else, how could she stay silent and do nothing?

Similar to her younger sister, Yu Yan Fei was also not willing to let go of the handsome and gallant duke who stole her heart.

Despite being related by blood and being cousins, Princess Gao thought that no one could match the Duke but her. She tried so hard to complete her etiquette class and rank the highest in the academy amongst the other young princesses and ladies in the capital.

Not only that, but she also got the title as the most desirable lady and bride in the empire, rivaling the princesses from other kingdoms and even had several suitors asking for her hand.

And yet, the man that her eyes were watching closely, hoping that he would look in her way didn't even try to think about her when he decided to take a bride without even consulting her father.

This was something that Princess Gao would never allow. She would never let any other girl take the man her heart has fallen for.

And that was why Princess Gao has thought of a plan to teach Lin Xiaofei a lesson. Her younger sister also came at the right time to assist her by using her funds to buy the poison from a merchant.

Yu Yan Fei chose not to say anything as her younger sister continued to ramble about how Lin Xiaofei deserved what was done to her grandfather. But deep inside her, she was deeply grateful to the gods in the sky and her well-thought-out plan to remove the annoying old general from the picture.

Without General Lin, the Lin family will surely sink and their prestige will be burned down before their eyes while others will prey on them.

And the engagement between the young lady from the Lin family and the Duke will naturally come after their doom.

If things were to happen according to her plan, the Duke might throw Lin Xiaofei away like trash and that's when she'll take the chance to snatch the duke!

With that in thought, Princess Gao returned to seat on her chair and ordered the maid to pour her and her younger sister a drink.

"Isn't it a bit too early for us to drink, sister?" Asked Princess Zhou while raising her head to look at her sister.

"Don't worry, I won't tell concubine An and father about this." She said and raised the cup of alcohol, "Let's celebrate, sister."

Princess Zhou smiled at her and let their cups meet with a 'clink' sound before they tipped their heads backward to drink the contents of their cups.

They were still smiling at their achievement and both were already thinking of the future they envisioned inside their minds.

However, it wasn't for long till their smiles were wiped away and what replaced it was the blood that was dripping down their lips and nose.
