The wild creatures are not just mindless beings with no understanding of danger or anything like that; they are actively able to understand that the target they are looking to hunt has some sort of power, and it is not worth the risk.

One of the distinctions between fantasy and reality is that in reality, The creatures in the reality. Even if they are not sentient. They still value their lives and not necessarily attacks every living thing they see with their eyes.
