Reborn As A Dragon Girl With A System

Chapter 998 Hina

"She wandered the streets aimlessly for the longest time, looking for food, hiding from the bad people. She had no one to rely on. She only had herself. She did everything she could to survive until one day….. She died under the snowflakes. This same girl also had another life before this one. She was a child who was cursed. The people around her all died. She lived a life of solitude, never wanting to harm anyone, only wishing to grow stronger so she could take her revenge.

"But did you know…. The solitude, the loneliness that comes with being all alone, that there is actually a ray of light? A hope for a brighter future? A hope for one to be able to live a life without worry?

"When the young girl was reborn yet again. She found herself alone, the last dragon of her world. She was confused yet excited. She had remembered her previous self, that was so lonely and afraid that when she came to be, she seemed to turn into another person. She had been reborn and was able to have a new start on life away from humans. Even though she was alone, she was excited to explore this new world and see what it held for her.

"Fateful encounters soon followed. She met many friends, a lover, and even had babies and started a family. While there were many twists and turns, she was able to push forward, always pushing, trying to get stronger so no one could bully her or her family. It was because of her family that she was able to find a purpose in life. She was able to see a new dream.

"Now she sits here seeing someone similar to herself and wonders how she would have turned out if she had never received a helping hand." Kana still had her eyes closed as she wiped the tears that were threatening to fall.

"An interesting story, although I see no reason for me to believe any of it. Humans and demonic beasts are all deceitful creatures. If you look below, you will see for yourself. They hunt and murder each other on a daily basis. This is why I kill all those whose cultivation gets too high. I will never allow a demonic beast to take on a human form." The young girl said with a snort.

Kana shook her head and let out a sigh. She did not want to do this, but she had no choice. "Aoi…."

"Hmmm?" The young girl was confused, but soon a young woman appeared next to Kana. She had a visible watery crown on her head with many elemental balls floating around it. The feeling the young girl got from this new person was suppression. "Empress!? What how!? Why would you form a contract with a lesser being!? These deceitful creatures!?"

"You are wrong," Aoi spoke softly as she sat down next to Kana and leaned against Kana's shoulder. "Kana is nothing like others. She saved me from the loneliness of time. The loneliness of being trapped underground for all eternity.

"Kana is one of the few people of the multiverse who wears her heart on her sleeve. It is easy to understand her intentions with a single glance unless you refuse to look at it. Kana has never treated me as a tool or object. She protects everyone around her and treats me and the others as her own family. She never allows us to experience any hardships. All because she cares for us.

"You say you can not trust anyone. You say you do not want to be treated as a tool and have someone abuse your power. Kana has no need for that. There is no one in this multiverse more powerful than her. She can stand in front of us and shield us from harm. She allows us to roam freely and do as we please. Even now, my brother Ganjo has a family of his own and is married to Kana's daughter, no less. Life is all about what you can make of the situation. If you are willing to take the risk to grab hold of the hand being held out to you." Aoi stood up and walked over to the young wind elemental and squatted in front of her, and reached her hand out. "Will you take the risk and listen to the me, who has been beside Kana for hundreds of years, and follow her as I have?"

The young girl looked at Aoi and then back at Kana. She was still in disbelief. And her mind was spinning. She did not wish to stay alone, but she was afraid of what would happen to her if she got too close to people. She was really afraid. But seeing Aoi, the empress of all elementals the one who rules over all, standing here with her hand reached out to her, she slowly lifted her hand and, after a bit of hesitation, placed it in Aoi's palm.

Aoi smiled and held the hand in hers as she said: "You will not regret your decision today." With that, she led the young woman over to Kana and passed the hand in hers over to Kana's hand. She then placed her hand on the young girl's head and then on Kana's and spoke softly: "Bind!"

The wind kicked up and swirled around Kana and the young wind elemental. Seconds later, Kana saw a message pop up in front of her.

[Acquired Wind Elemental]

[Evolution requirements Updated]

[To evolve into a Keeper of Worlds: Acquire the Rune of Creation]

Kana ignored the sudden notifications as she looked at the green haired girl in front of her and said: "From this moment on, you will be named Hina. Hina, welcome to my family."

*Woosh!*

The thick wind wall that had been surrounding the place Kana was in suddenly disappeared. Hina stared at Kana as if she was frozen in place. But this only lasted a few seconds before tears began to well up in her eyes as she started crying.
