Chapter 196: We Don’t Have a Picture! Does It Count?
Mu Siyin wanted to nod her head after the first half of Uncle Zhong’s statement. However, what on earth did he mean by ‘recharge yourselves’?
Shi Beiyu looked utterly speechless. “What did you do again?”
Uncle Zhong said mysteriously, “It’s good nourishment for you.”
Mu Siyin did not know what to say. She could vaguely guess what kind of nourishment Uncle Zhong meant. This old man really was…
Seeing how speechless Mu Siyin was, Uncle Zhong smiled widely and said, “I only have both your happiness in mind.”
Mu Siyin’s face flushed even more!
Uncle Zhong chuckled as he yelled out to the servants outside the door. “Serve the dishes now. Quickly! Don’t let it go cold!”
Mu Siyin blushed as she quietly placed the red book on the table into the box.
Upon seeing this, curiosity overtook Uncle Zhong’s face as he asked, “Little Siyin, what gift did Little Beibei give you?”
Mu Siyin instinctively placed her hand on top of the box. Then, she smiled at Uncle Zhong and said, “A necklace.”
Considering how much of a blabbermouth Uncle Zhong was, he could never find out about this.
This made Uncle Zhong even more curious. “Really? It must be really precious! Can I take a look? Just one look!”
Upon saying so, Uncle Zhong raised his hands to pick up his monocle. That was when Mu Siyin looked towards Shi Beiyu’s direction in panic.
How was she supposed to reject him now?
Shi Beiyu knew it was a bad time to announce their marriage. Hence, the man could only tell Uncle Zhong, “Only she can lay eyes on my gift.”
Uncle Zhong paused for a moment before looking at Shi Beiyu in annoyance. “Little Beibei, why are you becoming pettier?”
Shi Beiyu threw a fake laugh. “You can always see it when she wears it.”
At that, Uncle Zhong snorted proudly. “If I knew this would happen, I wouldn’t have made you oxtail tonic soup!”
Mu Siyin lowered her head as she blushed.
Shi Beiyu said arrogantly, “I never needed those things.”
“Y-You little brat! If you’re so tough, don’t you dare take a sip for the rest of your life!”
Then, Uncle Zhong stomped out in anger.
Mu Siyin looked at Shi Beiyu speechlessly. “Can’t you talk to Uncle Zhong nicely?”
Shi Beiyu smiled and said, “That’s Uncle Zhong for you. He won’t be able to stay mad for more than 3 minutes. He’ll jump back into a good mood soon.”
What Shi Beiyu said made sense too. Uncle Zhong was a jolly person, and Mu Siyin had never seen him mad nor pulling a long face before.
The dishes had been all served by now. A dazzling array of delicacies laid out on the table before them.
Mu Siyin had only eaten a slice of bread that morning, so she was starving by now.
Mu Siyin was a foodie, and the sight of all the food made her stomach rumble in hunger. She would drool if she stared any longer.
When Shi Beiyu noticed the way Mu Siyin’s eyes shone, he looked at her adoringly and placed some food on her plate. “You must be hungry. Eat more.”
Mu Siyin nodded her head. As she picked up her cutleries, she began to chomp on the food without caring how she looked.
Shi Beiyu was happy to see how much Mu Siyin enjoyed the food.
After a while, Mu Siyin could not help but ask.
“Can you tell me how you got our certificate done?”
Shi Beiyu smirked. “I got Ah Jiu to help.”
Mu Siyin suddenly understood!
Getting a marriage certificate approved was a small thing to someone like Leng Jiuchen!
However, she was still not convinced of its legality. “But we don’t have a picture. Does it count?”
Shi Beiyu laughed softly. “We can always add in a picture whenever you want to.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Once Mu Siyin acknowledged it, she hung her head low as she started to come out with a small scheme.
Shi Beiyu lifted an eyebrow. “What’s on your mind this time?”
Mu Siyin looked at Shi Beiyu and shook her head. “Nothing. You should eat too. Here, let me get you some soup. Uncle Zhong had it cooked purposely for you, so you should drink up no matter what. He’ll be heartbroken if you don’t.”
