Chapter 110 [Goddess Of War]
The troops burst into laughter and cheers.
"I think the Mad Queen found stage one of our attack charming.
What do you think?" He asked with a cheeky grin.
Roars of laughter followed alongside battle cries and howls.
"What about you, brave soldiers?
Are you ready to add your signature to our… love letter to her?" He asked with a wicked smile.
"Yeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" The troops roared in response.
The response was deafening, and Marie tucked in her earplugs with a chuckle.
Her dazzling smile made the gesture charming and sent a wave of chuckles through the crowd.
Helix gave her a subtle glance and wink, sparking greater laughter.
"Are you ready to carve your name into the annals of history?" Helix with a sharpened gaze.
"Let me ask you, do you want to let these girls do all of the fighting, or do you want to show the world your power and might as a warrior!?" Helix yelled with his arms pumped high.
Battle cries burst forth as if they were held back by a broken flood gate.
Helix nodded in satisfaction and then raised his hand to quiet the yelling.
"Tell me! Are you ready to send a message to any monster, country, or god that dares to attack Kozen!?" He yelled with a fiery gaze.
"YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The bloodlust oozing from the crowd developed a hallucinogenic aura.
He and Marie felt they could almost see it.
It was a deafening and horrifying sound that rivaled the Stalkwalker's cries.
Helix turned around and stared at the Colossus.
It looked to the west with shock and nervousness in its eyes.
Its primal instincts told it to flee instead of fighting the attackers wounding it.
"See that, soldiers? This quote [Colossus] is scared of your voices." Helix chuckled.
The troops burst into laughter.
"Are you ready to prove your bark is [weaker] than your bite!?" He asked with a passionate voice.
Deafening cries eliminated every other sound in the area.
The amplification spells projected the battle cries of those near Helix.
As a result, the 50 duplicated the sound and magnified its effect.
The Stalkwalker started struggling against the weight of gravity again.
Charlotte's blue flames were out, but new fire spells were burning its fur.
"Good! That's what I expected from you!" Helix yelled while turning out.
"Soldiers! There is a 25-foot chasm that stands between you and glory!
There is no backing out once those launch circles send you over it!
Do you still want to go and prove yourself?" Helix asked with a mocking grin.
"YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"Many of you will die a glorious death today, and your actions will carve your soul into the Myriad record forever!" Helix announced.
His words were met with a thunderous roar.
"You cannot die today because you will forever be immortalized!" He continued.
"So don't hold back! Don't falter! Don't turn away!
Show the Mad Queen your life's achievements!
Prove that humankind has power far greater than whiny monsters!"
Charlotte had a wicked grin as she listened to the frightening roars from the hilltop.
"Hellie's going ham!" She cried in excitement.
Tyrene's eyes have been wide ever since his speech began.
She couldn't hear it, but she could tell it was far more powerful than the last.
"Most of all, troops! Prove to Myriad, prove to Kozen, prove to humankind…." Helix began.
He paused to meet the gaze of every soldier he could see.
"You're worthy of this legend!"
"YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"Battalion leaders! Meet with your war goddess!
Squadron leaders! Earn that admiration of your men and women!
Troops! Prove to me that you're not just another person with a sword!
I'll be watching!" Helix roared.
"Now get into formation, speak to your war goddess, fly over that chasm, and don't turn back!
Brave soldiers! This battle is a once in a millennia moment for glory!
Match that Colossus' gaze with a fearless grin…." He ordered while unsheathing his sword.
"AND CLAIM OUR VICTORY!"
"YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
—
"War Goddess Marie!" A man saluted.
"Battalion Leader Vasquez." Marie replied with a serious tone.
She was working diligently to restrain her facial muscles.
She sighed inwardly and convinced herself it was necessary and better than [Fairy Marie].
"Mam. Our troops are ready for deployment!" He announced.
"Strategy plan, Battalion Leader." She ordered.
"Our strategy is to sever its spinal cord.
The charge to make the cuts will be led by Squadron Leader Wright.
He controls powerful tanks with heavy combat experience capable of cutting through the hide." Vasquez began.
"Squadron Leader Mitus will lead the fighters with Nightmares to the front to attack and draw its attention.
Squadron Leader Veil will provide support with barrier mages to withstand the onslaught.
The two have a strong working relationship with one another.
We're confident that the two can survive the otherwise suicidal attack."
Marie's eyes widened before a gentle smile formed on her face.
"Battalion Leader Vasquez, you've done well.
I look forward to watching you on the battlefield." She replied with a warm gaze.
"Y-Yes, mam! We will do you proud."
Battalion Leader Vasquez saluted before charing away with a determined expression.
"Battle Goddess Marie!" A woman called out.
"Yes, Battalion Leader Silo?" Marie replied.
"Mam. I have prepared my Squadrons for the battle." Silo replied.
"We have followed your orders and worked through logistics between the leaders.
It was decided my team was most capable of leading the rescue operations.
We've allocated 25% of the strongest fighters and defense mages to rescue the fallen.
Is that too much or too little?"
Marie smiled at the woman with admiration in her heart.
"You've done well. There isn't much time, but please speak to all of your troops as you lead them to battle." She requested.
"Tell them the War Goddess has requested they fight with valor to protect the weak and stay alive.
They cannot save others if they are dead."
"Yes, mam!" Silo saluted.
"War Goddess Marie!" A man cried while running to her.
"Major Raymond!" Marie replied hastily.
"We've exhausted the mages' magic on the front line.
The beast is currently unable to get back up, but it won't be long!"
Marie nodded and walked with Raymond and Silo hurriedly to the chasm.
Once she was in the area, she stared at the broken and beaten Colossus.
It was heavily injured, but there was still fire in its eyes.
Marie looked down at her feet.
There were more than 50 Jump Circles that worked like trampolines.
They were high-powered.
If someone didn't land on one, they wouldn't fly into the chasm, which was 15-feet away, to ensure they didn't get destroyed during her spell.
She turned to the crowd of soldiers preparing to jump.
Their faces were nervous now that they were staring at the creature closely.
Its canine head was the size of a small mansion, and they understood that normal attacks wouldn't inflict much damage.
"Listen up and keep quiet!" Marie yelled with a booming voice.
"This is the moment you've lived your whole life for!"
She gazed upon the people before her.
"In sixty seconds, you will achieve glory in one way or another!
However, if you can survive, you'll remain just as immortal as you will if you die!"
Light cheers came from the nervous men and women.
"The difference between living and dying is simple!
You cannot celebrate with the dead!" Marie chuckled.
Laughter filled the crowd.
"So if you see someone dying and you're safe enough to save their life, your War Goddess asks you to do so!
That way, we can celebrate our legendary victory together!"
