Chapter 132 132 - Light And Rage
"I'm fine Lyza, I just have a full head." Although Ryan said this, to the watchful and experienced gaze of that redheaded woman, it was easy to see that the problem was a little bigger than he was showing. Placing one of her hands on his shoulder, she said "You don't have to tell me what's going on, I want you to know that if you need help, I'll be here," her line was comforting.
With a warmth in his chest, Ryan pulled her close gave her a kiss on the lips, "Hun?" Lyza was taken aback by the tug, with wide eyes she just accepted her own fate. As the two exchanged saliva and heat, swirling their tongues and enjoying that connection, a few people ended up watching.
"Is that teacher Lyza?"... "Is she dating a student?"
A boy observed the two, and seconds later ran out of the changing room.
<You just created a rather large problem>
'The me of the future will find an answer'
<Heh...>
"Someone saw us..." Lyza said, her face flushed, "I can run after him yet, master."
"Don't worry, that won't be a problem" Ryan said, placing both hands on the redhead's cheek as he pulled her closer for another quick kiss.
Even though he tried to ignore it, the mission window was still visible every time Ryan opened his system, creating an annoying notification that would follow him until the completion of that task. Walking towards the spectator area, his mind returned to his problems in a slightly more serene way.
<'Are you more relieved now?
'I would be calmer if I had let go of everything I have inside Lyza, but for now I'm fine'
<You are quite naughty>
'It's a joke, stupid succubus'
<Heh... I see, dumb pervert master>
Ryan was in the student common area, away from the ordinary people who came to watch the show. Even among his equals, he could still clearly see how there were eyes and comments towards him. People surprised by his presence and others commenting on the duel he had had, but all that changed when the new challengers entered the arena.
As much as he already had some notions of confrontations and duels with monsters, battles with humans were different. Ryan was genuinely interested in watching these confrontations, in previous years he would watch the broadcasts and Vod of these duels noting every detail of what was happening, but this time it was different.
With his keen eyes he watched the posture of the warriors who were entering, observing their movements and gestures. What they were doing and how they were going to behave with the audience, unlike just watching or admiring their skills, Ryan could feel as if he were inside that confrontation. The feeling he was getting was as if he was one more who would enter the arena, and when the battle began, this feeling only intensified.
The duel that would take place was the penultimate of the day, a battle between two academy students with A+ ranks. One of them, a muscular young man with black hair, was carrying an axe larger than his own body, while the other was a dark-skinned elven mage who wore a white bandanna on his forehead, just below his long straight hair.
Carrying a staff that hit the height of his chest, the two exchanged glances and so the battle began. At the top of the arena, a golden sign appeared with the names of the two warriors, and with a shout, Torek the dwarf announced the battle "Ettrian Kilhran VS Max Harper".
The instant the two stepped forward to begin the confrontation, all the screams from the audience disappeared in Ryan's ears. The state of focus he was in was so great that it was as if eel was alone, only he was watching that confrontation.
The elf channeled a long distance spell, using his staff to create a magic circle. Ryan's conclusion was that this spell would not be fast enough to overcome his opponent's approach. With a moving skill, Max approached with the wide leaps, while launching an attack with his axe towards the wizard.
That gigantic blade shone with the reflection of the sky, as it descended to inevitably cut the elf's body from side to side, the magic circle was not ready. But at the waist of that long haired young man was a book with the solution, as soon as the axe came within an inch of the elf's body, a barrier exploded in the arena.
A blue shockwave pushed the wind in all directions, as the warrior carrying the axe fell backwards in confusion. His heavy black armor had knocked him down, and with difficulty, he stood up trying to remain serious.
To Ryan, this must have been a basic protection incantation, there were necklaces that protected against projectiles and fatal attacks. Even the dwarven technology had something similar, but even from a distance he could see how there was a smaller magic circle spinning in front of the elf's leather book.
That magic was golden and intense, the elf brought one of his hands close to the magic circle that was in the book and controlling it with his fingers, he completely changed the structure of that spell. Finally, the larger magic circle in front of the staff was completed, and a single gigantic leisure came out towards Max Harper.
The warrior grabbed the top and the handle and placed it in front of his body, using his axe as shields, directly receiving that blow of light that was easily over a meter in diameter. If it hadn't been for the gloves he was wearing, his hand would probably have been burned with the attack he had received.
Smoke rose from the armor and the ground, just as the wind began to sway and vibrate with the heat of the attack. With a loud scream, Max activated a Berserk mode. His eyes changed to a black color as his body emitted a red aura of pure hatred, rushing towards the elf, Max swung his axe once, leaping as he attacked the mage's head.
