Chapter 146 - The Forest
Jian and Song Yu were blinded ad Jian had touched the earth element core. It took a few minutes for their vision to become normal, and finally, they could see again.
They found out that they were in a cave. The cave is bottomless. The exit of the cave was at least a hundred meters away. After checking around for r a few minutes, both of them slumped on the ground.
The first thing Jian did was check his left hand. He saw earth element core in i,t and finally, he sighed relief. They were able to acquire the centre. Song Yu also saw the body and sighed relief.
She then looked at his right had seen that it was broken, and she wanted help, but he shook his and kept the core in the investigation and ate a healing pill.
His right hand was immediately healed. For the first time, Jian was injured. He didn't feel any pain when he saw that his hand was fractured. He had not expected this, and the writing was quickly healed with the help of a healing pill.
He then told her that they would restore, stand then they would leave the cave. Although only Jian was injured, Song Yu was also exhausted, so they agreed to recover.
Jian immediately started to run his cultivation technique and focus on recovering his Qi. His Qi was nearly empty, even though he could handle middle-grade three-star beasts, but late and peak beasts were impossible.
It was a good thing that he only had to attract their attention; otherwise, he had to wait till he reached Core Formation Realm. And I'm the tomb it was nearly immediate as many dangers were lurking in it.
He had several minor injuries, but the healing pill healed all. Now he only had to be in top condition, and then they could move forward.
It took two hours for them to recover to top condition completely. Song Yu took most of the time because she had to clear the earth element Qi from her body as she stood near the core; it had attached to her.
When both were in top condition, Jian looked towards the exit and saw it was dark outside. He immediate calculated the time and found out that the sun was going to set.
Meaning the day had ended, so they decided to not leave the cave till morning because it would be good if they started to explore in daylight. Because they didn't know what was waiting for them outside the cave.
So they decided to rest and leave the cave in the morning. Jian and Song Yu didn't waste time and directly went to sleep. Even though they had recovered their Qi, they still had Mental fatigue, so only sleeping would help them recover. So only lay for few minutes both went in deep sleep.
Jian was the first to wake up. He didn't disturb Song Yu and freshened up. He was now in top condition. Although one-night sleep was not enough to remove all fatigue, it was more than enough to keep him going.
While he had done his thing, Song Yu woke up and saw that Jian was ready. She immediately became embarrassed and wanted to rush, but Jian told her to relax.
She then freshened up and got ready. She had changed her robes, and Jian had cleaned his robe with the help of the system. Now both were ready to exit the cave.
They both were hungry, so they also had to look for beasts. So they didn't waste much time and moved towards the exit. In seconds they reached the door and finally took a step outside.
As they went outside, they were assaulted by the wind, so they closed their eyes, and in a few seconds, they opened and found out that there were standing in the forest.
Jian and Song Yu was shocked because they expected that they would get another complex area like a desert. Seeing the forest, they sighed.
Jian didn't know which element core they had to search, but they first had to look for beasts to satisfy their hunger.
They started to move in one direction. The forest was similar to the first part of the tomb. The only difficulty was that the forest was not on a mountain.
The forest was covered in giant trees similar to the first part, but in this forest, the trees wehughuge. Only small amounts of light were able to pass through the gap between the leaves of the tree.
After walking for an hour, they encountered a tree that had fruits on it. So they plucked the fruit and ate them. After eating a few of them, they felt that they had overeaten.
Jian couldn't understand how they were full only after two fruits. He immediately activated the Star Gaze and checked the fruits. He found they were similar to herbs. It contained a considerable amount of Qi.
"Host, you have eaten a low-grade spirit fruit—no need to be shocked. I want to check something. Please check the surroundings using the Star Gaze."
The system had interrupted Jian's thoughts and explained to Jian why whether as a whole, eating only two fruits. He immediately followed the system instructions and checked the surrounding using Star Gaze.
In the air, he was able to see multiple elements floating. But one element was overwhelming the other. It's like it was the catalyst that holds other features of elements. The colour of the component was green in colour.
After seeing this, Jian had confirmed something as he was about to ask the system. The system continued it for him.
"Yes, host, you guess is right. This area is focused on wood elements. So you have to search for wood element core."
Jian had guessed after seeing the green coloured element floating with the Qi. Because he had already seen it in the sect when Zhou You was refining the pills. It was similar to his physique.
He immediately thought about Zhou You because, in this place, he will be able to awaken his physique completely. He then decided to collect material with a considerable amount of wood energy to refine a pill for Zhou Yu.
He then looked at Song Yu, who was in the same shock as Jian after eating the fruits. So he explained everything and even told her about which element core they were searching for.
They didn't have anything related to wood elements. At first, Jian decided that he would climb a tree and check the surroundings.
After discussing with Song Yu, he immediately started climbing,d in a few minutes, he had reached his peak. He activated Star Gaze and saw that the forest was spread in all directions.
There was not a single mountain. Nothing was there aside from the trees. He looked at the north from his position and felt there was something there, so he supplied Qi to Star Gaze.
It immediately became clear for him to see. He was shocked after seeing what was at the north and immediately decided that he and Song Yu would move in the north direction.
Because he two giant trees double in size of the trees in the forest. Only these trees were different from others. They both were at a certain distance. He had not seen such tall trees, so he immediately guessed that the wood element core would be there.
Before climbing down, he noted a route and determined how much time they would need to reach the trees. He climbed down and told everything to Song Yu.
She also came to the same conclusion but saw that Jian was not happy. She immediately asked him what was wrong?
"We will need at least twenty-four hours to reach the trees. Although from the top they seemed closer when I checked the route and the distance, there were far away.
We don't even know which type of beasts we would encounter. So roughly, we need a maximum of twenty-four hours to reach there."
Song Yu didn't doubt Jian one bit. She knew that he had no reason to lie. They immediately formed a plan. That they would only take three breaks at intervals of six hours.
Further plans will be determined after seeing which type of beasts they encounter. So they decided they would walk for six straight hours and then rest, and then further breaks will be determined by the encounter with the beasts.
They prepared themselves and kept some fruits for the future and started to walk in the north direction. They had been walking for two hours but had not encountered any beasts. They only saw a few more trees with spirit fruits, but aside from this, they couldn't find anything else, so they continued to move in the north direction.
Everything was normal but one thing kept coming in Jian's mind and that was that the presence he felt at the start of the tomb. He could understand that he had clearly felt the presence but had not seen the person whose presence he felt. He couldn't in where that person went.
