Chapter 234 - What Is Wrong With Jasmine?
The waiter did as Jane instructed and afterwards went back to the bar. Jasmine did not feel suspicious but instead feel happy that the drink came from Jackson.
"I can see he was only pretending to be angry with me. I find him sweet and cute when he acts like this," Jasmine said smiling as she gulp down the cold drink.
Meanwhile, Jackson who had gone into his room to get something hurried back so he could talk to the lady he saw earlier. He had a broad smile on his handsome face as he approaches the location he last saw Jasmine.
"With the location and everything set for my proposal I am just waiting for night to reach. Although there's a huge possibility she will reject me, I still want to give it a try. At least that way she will get to know about my deep feelings for her," Jackson tried to be optimistic about everything. As Jackson was approaching Jasmine's location so also was Elizabeth.
"Jasmine didn't have breakfast today so I am sure that she must be starving.. Knowing her personality very well I am sure that she will not eat except someone forced her to do it so let me take her out for lunch," Elizabeth muttered as she followed the direction she saw Jasmine took earlier.
Jasmine who just finishes consuming the entire drink held her chest when she felt her chest tightened. The glass in her hand soon falls off. Beads of sweat began to form on her forehead. As her grip on the chair tightened to avoid falling off, breathing becomes difficult. It was at this moment Jackson reached her. He quickly squats in front of her when he saw the state she was in.
"Jasmine, what is wrong with you? Are you feeling uncomfortable in any way," Jackson asked in a worried tone as he placed his hands on her legs.
"I... I... can't.... bree.... breath," Jasmine said inaudibly and with great difficulty.
"Straw... strawberries," Jasmine managed to speak again.
"Strawberries?" Jackson asked as he scrutinised their environment. It was after he looked carefully that he saw the glass on the sand.
"Goddamn it! Someone must have added strawberries to her drink," Jackson said worried as he immediately sprang up.
"Wait here, I will go get your medication in your room. I am sure you will be fine afterwards," Jackson said as he made to hurry away but a voice stopped her.
"What is wrong with Jasmine?" A lady's worried voice asked.
"Someone added strawberries to her drink. I am going to get her medication in her room. She will be fine after taking her drugs," Jackson tried to assure himself. Elizabeth's eyes met the glass lying on the ground. She shook her head in disappointment.
"Oh no! If Jasmine had really consumed the entire drink then the drugs are useless. Her allergy drugs were given to her to suppress the mild effect of her allergy but since she drank the entire content the medicine will be useless in her body," Elizabeth squatting in front of Jasmine announced to the shock of the once hopeful Jackson.
Panic struck Jackson when he heard that the drugs won't be effective when she takes them. Jane, the one responsible for this showed up.
"Then what should we do to help her? We have to come up with a solution right?" Jackson said his gaze focused on the now paled Jasmine.
"Taking her to the hospital is our only option....,"
"I saw a hospital here but it is a twenty minutes ride...,"
"She can't last for fifteen minutes not to mention twenty minutes. We need to find a hospital closer," Elizabeth said as she caressed the face of her sister.
"The hospital Jack mentioned is the closest to the hotel. The rests are either thirty minutes or an hour from here," Jane added pretending as though she was worried about the welfare of Jasmine.
"I can do it. I can reach there in ten minutes. I can't bear to see her die so I believe that I can do it," Jackson said as he stretched to carry Jasmine but Jane held his hand.
"Jack, what you are planning to do is dangerous...,"
"Who said you could touch me or even speak here?" Jackson asked violently brushing her hand off him. He immediately carried the dying lady on his body.
"I am coming with you," Elizabeth hurried after the running Jackson. Seeing him run with a lady in his arms garnered the attention of everyone. Some of the onlookers even began murmuring but Jackson paid no attention to them.
"I love you very much, Jasmine and I will never allow you to die on me without confessing my feelings to you. You will live to be the mother of my children, that I am certain of," Jackson who just reached the car muttered as he opened the car even with Jasmine in his arms.
After carefully placing her on the backseat, he hurried to the steering. Before he could drive away, Elizabeth finally caught up to him.
Jackson drove off at top speed after she had entered the car.
The speed at which he drove made people think that he had gone crazy. With Jackson driving so crazily, Elizabeth's heart was practically at her mouth. Despite being scared she did not fail to hug Jasmine tightly to herself.
"You must and cannot die," Jackson keep chanting while maintaining the high speed.
After what seems like an eternity for Elizabeth, the car finally halted in front of the tall grey colour building. Jackson hurriedly got out of the car and rushed to the backseat without even shutting the door of the car. The way he effortlessly carried the unconscious Jasmine stunned Elizabeth.
Before Elizabeth finished closing the door of the car and turn to face Jackson, she was shocked when he saw that he was nowhere to be seen.
"He is sure fast," Elizabeth muttered before she hurried towards the entrance of the tall building.
