Master of the End Times

Chapter 829 - The Styx

Chapter 829: The Styx

North African Republic Alliance. This was a massive organization that was formed by several dozens of African clans in North Africa. The region there was rather lacking in resources due to it being mostly desert.

The only source of water they had was just a river; and this river was the reason many people and clans in this region had been warring against one another. There were always hundreds of people dying near the river every single day due to the infighting for water resources.

Due to the high fatal rate around the location, the locals had a name for this river—the Styx.

The Styx was about six thousand kilometers in length and remained as the longest river that existed on the planet.

Many cities of different factions were built congregated along the river. And to be able to build a city along the river, one must be an ability user who was at least B-tier and above.

Thus, unlike how the Huaxia Alliance spread out their cities and colonies, the cities here in North Africa tend to link to one another along the river like a long line. Not only that, each city was not huge in size—they were only as huge as the Chengbei colony.

Nonetheless, it was still a sight to behold when one looked at these cities from the sky.

The nightly sky was slowly brightened by the lazy, morning sun. The cities, upon seeing the first sunlight, started to wake up from its slumber. Several people who were assigned to carry water into the cities picked up their equipment and walked toward the Styx.

Suddenly, the air started to condense around them before everything they saw before them became distorted! In just a matter of seconds, the first few sections of the Styx succumbed to dimensional contortion.

A huge dimensional rift then opened up above the Styx, swallowing half of the river.

To add more, there were also countless smaller dimensional cracks that had opened up about hundreds of kilometers along the river.

The civilians who were there to carry water cried out in fear.

“Cracks! It’s the cracks!”

“Demons! It’s the demons! The demons are coming!”

“Oh no...! Is this another start of an apocalypse?”

Their surrounding areas distorted and shifted as they were wailing in despair. The hills, roads, and the river seemed to be gripped and hurled into a grinder. Everything they saw had changed into a view of a nightmare.

Meanwhile, the alarm systems in the cities roared out loudly.

Now, there was nothing but chaos in the Styx.

“Quick! We need to stabilize the dimension and space there!”

“Get the space stabilizer to the scene right now!”

“Look! What is that?! Is that blood?!”

“Oh my God!”

The people in the cities widened their eyes as they witnessed what was going on via the drones’ cameras.

They saw blood coming out of several, massive dimensional cracks.

A moment later, they saw countless corpses falling out of the dimensional cracks and into the Styx.

A few moments later, the Styx was completely dyed red.

And the dimensional cracks were still spewing out corpses—corpses that were dismembered and crushed to pieces.

Human corpses.

Other humanoid species corpses.

Ultra beasts corpses.

There were corpses everywhere they looked.

A water ability user used his abilities to rock the waters in the Styx to bring up one of the human corpses to the shore.

A brief examination on the corpse revealed that it had a finely crafted rune equipment on it. More importantly, these were spatial rune equipment.

The water ability user quickly brought this corpse out of the water and took off all the equipment from it. His face was filled with joy when he saw the master-craft spatial ring equipment.

This thing must have carried a lot of goodies in its pocket dimension!

Upon seeing this, the others too started to plan to get the most out of this phenomenon. They did not seem to care about whatever disaster that had happened or was about to happen. So long as they could get something out of this and then get away before anything bad happened, they did not care at all.

Some ignorant, superstitious civilians knelt down and prayed feverishly to the sky, hoping that this was not going to be another calamity that would end the world again.

Then, more and more blood and corpses appeared in the Styx.

Things started to take a huge, interesting turn.

“My God! This corpse... he’s wearing a God Armor, I think?”

“This ultra beast corpse... it’s a beast king’s corpse!”

“This creature... I think it’s an S-tier!”

More and more insanely powerful ultra beast corpses started to emerge on the river’s surface.

More and more human corpses that carried invaluable rune equipment appeared in the water.

Seeing all these, greed started to overcome these people.

Especially when words about the S-tier ultra beast corpses appearing in the Styx got out to the cities and to the world, more and more people started eyeing the Styx.

They did not know if this phenomenon would keep going on. Or it would just stop happening after a day or two.

If this phenomenon was a permanent thing, then the Styx had now become a priceless, treasure-hunting ground.

Therefore, countless people started to make their way to the Styx.

Above the source of the Styx river, a black dimensional crack emerged.

In these two days, there were numerous dimensional cracks like this one appearing and disappearing.

Yet, this one was rather huge. It was a rare sight to see a crack emerging and becoming so large. Several ability users raised their heads, staring at the dimensional crack with excitement.

However, it did not take long before they realized that this was not a dimensional crack—it was actually a spatial tunnel.

A huge aircraft that was about hundreds of meters in length flew out of the spatial tunnel.

Many recognized from the ornaments that were decorated on the side of the airship that this was a vessel from the Huaxia Alliance. On the exterior shell of the airship, there were two large Chinese words printed on it—”Feng Li”. This was an aircraft belonging to the Fengli Organization!

Standing in command, Qin Feng looked at the Styx with passion burning wildly in his eyes.

“The Styx Battlefield!”

This battlefield was not just a short skirmish that happened for a day or two. In fact, according to what he remembered, this battle lasted for seven whopping years! And Qin Feng did not even know if this would ever end in the distant future too.

Still, the fact remained that the Styx Battlefield was not a place for the faint of heart. Only A-tiers were allowed here. And even these A-tiers needed to be extra vigilant here too because there were rumors of S-tiers’ appearance on the battlefield.

Before being reborn, Qin Feng first made his name here.

Now, he would be the one who takes the first bite!

“Let’s go!”

Hearing Qin Feng’s command, the aircraft flew into the massive dimensional crack in the sky. The people who were staring at Qin Feng’s airship were completely stunned when they saw this—they did not think that an airship could enter the crack at all.

Still, upon seeing this, they quickly realized...

“If these blood and corpses came from the other side of the crack... could there be even more goodies on the other side?”

Then, they started to get excited again.

Qin Feng’s action had caused a ripple of butterfly effects—ones that could change a great deal of things in the future.

Meanwhile, Qin Feng’s aircraft had ventured through the dimensional crack and entered the realm on the other side.

This realm was called “Blood River Realm”.

“Bai Li, stabilize the space around us. I’ll shift the aircraft into stealth mode!”

“Okay!”

Bai Li replied in agreement.

A few short moments after they had left the dimensional crack, they saw another one-meter-size dimensional crack ahead of them. If they kept on going forward, they would definitely crash into it.

More importantly, the aircraft’s tail had not completely gotten through and into this realm yet. There was no means for them to do any maneuver in the sky to evade the crack ahead.

However, as soon as the aircraft sounded the alarm, the dimensional crack ahead seemed to have disappeared.

The aircraft kept on moving onward. Then, a huge, crimson, bloodied land appeared before them. The whole land seemed to have been dyed by the blood of humans and ultra beasts as their corpses lay lifelessly everywhere they looked.

Qin Feng could feel a familiar presence.

He could also feel that these corpses were still brimming with lingering life forces and energy —the first battle on this side of the realm only happened very recently.

Thus, he quickly activated his Absorption Ability.
