Love So Sweet

Chapter 595 - 595 Playground

595 Playground

The three of them walked around the mall for a long time. In the end, Fang Su Jin decided to buy a watch for Zhang Yi Hai as it was the most convenient one.

Just as she was choosing a suitable one for Zhang Yi Hai, the salesgirl recommended a design that came with the woman’s model as well.

Fang Su Jin looked at the watch and thought that it looked suitable for her boyfriend. Thinking that Zhang Yi Hai was someone who liked to show off his affection, Fang Su Jin decided to buy a couple watches for them.

After getting what they need, the three of them finally went to a restaurant to have lunch together.

Of course, Fang Su Jin did not forget that she had promised to treat Zhang Li Xue to her favorite chicken wings.

The restaurant they visited was a kid-friendly restaurant with a small playground at the back.

After placing their order, Zhang Li Xue noticed that Bai Xi Xi was watching a few kids playing around and thought that she was interested to play as well.

Now that she thought about it, it seemed that Bai Xi Xi rarely visited the playground to play. Other than Uncle Qi Zheng’s daughter, Qi Yue, Bai Xi Xi did not have a lot of playmates her age.

Before she was married to Bai Qi, Uncle Qi Zheng often took Bai Xi Xi to his house and let the little girl befriend Qi Yue.

.....

As the thought came to her mind, Zhang Li Xue wondered if she should visit her uncle’s house with Bai Xi Xi later.

Zhang Li Xue snapped out of her trance and looked at Bai Xi Xi. “Xi Xi, do you want to go and play at the playground?”

The little girl retracted her gaze and pretended as if she was not looking at the playground. “It’s fine. I’ll stay here with you.”

A faint smile curled on her face. “Actually, you can go and play if you want. It will take a while before our food arrived.” Zhang Li Xue pretended as if she was pondering over something. “How about this, I will call you over when the food arrives.”

Bai Xi Xi glanced at the playground. Then, she turned to Zhang Li Xue with a hesitant look on her face. “Sister-in-law, is it alright?”

“Of course, it’s alright. Anyway, Sister Su Jin and I will be here to watch you,” Zhang Li Xue said.

“That’s right,” Fang Su Jin added. “As long as you turned around, you will be able to see us. We will stay here and wait for you.”

Bai Xi Xi’s eyes lit up. “Then, I will go and look around for a while. Sister-in-law, you must stay here and wait for me, alright?”

“Of course.” Zhang Li Xue nodded. “But Xi Xi, you must remember not to follow anyone you did not know, alright? If you feel that you’re in danger, you can shout as loud as you can. I will be right there for you.”

“Sister-in-law, I know.”

After saying a few more words, Bai Xi Xi finally went over to the playground.

Every few seconds, the little girl would look back at the two of them as if to ensure that they would not leave her at this place.

Seeing this scene made Zhang Li Xue a little sad. She could guess what Bai Xi Xi was afraid of.

“Xi Xi is always a sensible kid. I almost forgot that she is a child,” Fang Su Jin said.

“Mhm...” Zhang Li Xue heaved a sigh. If she did not pay a little more attention to the little girl, perhaps, she would not notice the way Bai Xi Xi was looking at the playground. “Fortunately, Xi Xi is more outgoing after we moved to stay with my mother.”

With a lot of people who cared about her around, Bai Xi Xi became a little more cheerful.

Just like Bai Qi, Zhang Li Xue hoped that the little girl would grow up to be a happy child.

Zhang Li Xue and Fang Su Jin continued to chat at the table while keeping their eyes on Bai Xi Xi.

Meanwhile, the little girl was looking around the playground as she arrived. There were quite a lot of kids around, but Bai Xi Xi did not know how to befriend them and play together.

Not too long ago, she was bullied at school without anyone backing her up. Since then, Bai Xi Xi found it difficult to befriend someone her age.

This was also the reason why she liked to stay close to her sister-in-law.

After a while, Bai Xi Xi walked over to the little swing where there was no one using it. She sat quietly on the swing and started to move while watching the other kids running around.

The atmosphere was a little noisy, but Bai Xi Xi loved the liveliness.

Her eyes fell on the group of kids who were playing with the large blocks together. Looking at their faces, Bai Xi Xi guessed that they should be related. Perhaps they were siblings.

There were four of them. Two boys and two girls. One of the boys seemed to be her age while the three others were a few years younger.

However, the four of them get along very well and they seemed to be quite close. Seeing them laughing together made her a little jealous.

After a while, the elder boy stood up and walked over in her direction.

Bai Xi Xi quickly shifted her gaze away before the boy would think that she was watching him. She watched as the boy walked past her to pick up another block that was not too far away from her.

A sigh of relief escaped her, knowing that the boy did not notice her watching. Bai Xi Xi peeked at the boy again and noticed the small mole under his right eye.

Just then, the boy raised his head and met her gaze. He stopped for a while and stared at her.

Bai Xi Xi’s started to panic.

If the boy would ask her why she was looking at him, she would not know how to answer.

Just then, a woman walked over and stopped nearby the playground. “Fu Chen, it’s time for us to go.”

Bai Xi Xi looked at the woman with her eyes wide.

Then, the boy stood up and answered, “Oh.” He put down the block on the floor before running over to his younger siblings.

Bai Xi Xi watched as the boy and his siblings leave the restaurant with his parents together. A faint smile curled on her lips as she watched the family together.

All of the sudden, the boy turned around to look at her.

Bai Xi Xi quickly retracted her gaze. When she dared to look up again, the boy and his family were no longer around.
