Chapter 108 - Ruckus
The lady just looked at her in surprise, but I think having an ability isn't rare, right? Why is she surprised?
"That's Inventory…" I heard her mumble.
But after seeing the meat, she even made a more surprised expression. "This quality… it's broaxen meat." she giggled in delight and immediately took the meat.
Ellena just remained silent and secretly dumbfounded. I guess this makes it peculiar to see. Is this lady a meat lover? Pft.
When the lady finally noticed her embarrassing actions, she immediately put back the meat and returned to her composure.
"I-I'm sorry for the-!"
But what she wasn't expecting was Ellena just chuckled softly.
"It's okay," Ellena said.
Then she continued, "I'll be waiting in the diner. Please make a delicious soup out of it. My companion would love it."
After it, she left the kitchen, heading to the diner.
"Why do you think Thalia would love it?" I asked.
'For the whole journey, we just ate dried cooked foods. It would be better if we had a soup, right?' she said.
"That's reasonable," I mumbled before we finally returned to dinner.
Ellena sat down, but Thalia was just standing. What's she doing? Her action made Ellena ponder, raising her eyebrow.
"Why are you standing there?" Ellen asked,
"Slaves don't sit at the same table as their master's," Thalia answered.
"Forget about it. Come, sit here." Ellena ordered, while Thalia just remained silent and nodded.
I guess she can't force it on Ellena. I also felt that there was some admiration. Her aura became sweet and pink towards Ellena.
I can understand her. Ellena is a loveable person. Who won't like her? They are just stupid to hate her.
Nonetheless, I still got to be stupid. My mechanism is to collect fear points. They need to be stupid to be scared of her too.
Never mind, that's just a selfish thought.
Half an hour later, the lady finally came back with a tray in her hands. Then she put the tray down and presented Ellena with a meat soup.
I wonder how great it was since the quality of broaxen meat is top-class.
"Thank you," Ellena said that the lady just bowed and left them to enjoy their food.
What the hell is this?... It's making me salivate.
They were enjoying their food, and Ellena even forgot about me while she was eating her food.
Oh… those foods… Aren't they delicious? –!
I just snapped out of it. This isn't good. I'm supposed to be… never mind…
I just waited for them to finish their food. And almost after an hour of eating and digesting their food, a smile emerged from their face, curling their lips.
"That was good…" Ellena muttered and acted as if rubbing her full stomach.
"It is." Thalia quickly responded.
Thalia is really something. Her attitude is somewhat uniquely similar to Ellena's. Why do I say so? It's because she seems nonchalant about things like being bored of the world.
Thalia's static expression rarely changes, and Ellena sometimes does it. There was a time when we were just passing in the corridor of the Lumbert Mansion, and her face would just become bored as if she was uninterested in things in her surroundings.
But hey… it's not as bad. She also has a different attitude that kinda makes me scared sometimes. She's unique too.
"Are you done?" I asked.
'Yup.'
"Wait a minute," Ellena said to Thalia and stood up, heading to the kitchen.
When she saw the lady, she asked her for the price.
"Esteemed customer, the service was free."
"Free? Why?"
"The honor you gave me was enough."
Huh? Now that's something confusing. Ellena eventually raised her eyebrow.
"What honor?" Ellena asked.
"Cooking broaxen meat was an honor." the lady said in a calm tone.
"Hm? Broaxen meat?"
Ah… So that meat was supposed to be rare meat? That's surprising since I thought it was just like a bear.
And just as I thought, broaxen meat was rare since its tenderness came from eating monsters. Also, broaxen meat is highly difficult and rare to find since sometimes they die after getting poisoned by eating different monsters.
The lady also turned out to be a chef. That's why Ellena and Thalia were so blissed out after eating the food. Her reason for staying here was her family. She had already given up seeking more knowledge since her family was more important than her dream.
As expected, the city was too much for her. Since the city is too crowded, dangerous people are blending into society.
Although it is ideal, she was just being practical and playing safe.
"Let's go, Thalia," Ellena called Thalia, who was leaving the inn at the moment.
"Yes, Big Sister." She answered.
But then, we weren't expecting the tide coming at us.
Someone was causing a ruckus, surrounding the carriage like a maniac.
There were at least four people there, and the villagers around us were scared, trembling in their presence.
Now, now… Who are these people?
Their faces have somewhat gawking eyes as if they were staring at a mere glance. However, what made me almost puke was that they were crazy. Seeing the expensive carriage, they licked its body and wheels.
That's really disgusting.
"What are you doing to our carriage?!" Thalia immediately ran and pushed a bastard to get away from the carriage.
Ellena, on the other hand, was following her in a calm manner.
I see where is this going. Did Ellena expect some action in this scene?
Ellena...is... becoming more and more of a battle junkie.
"Wohoho! Leader, they're stunning! Their scent was really amazing." One of the bastards said and sniffed Thalia, who pushed him with despise.
"Get away from our carriage!" Thalia exclaimed.
Despite how much Thalia wanted to shoo away the bastards, they still dared to joke about her, laughing in a somewhat crazy manner, their tongues sticking out of their mouths.
Their eyes really disgust me. I want to take their balls out of their bags.
"Thalia, get away from them. Let me settle it." Ellena finally stepped out.
The bastards just looked at her in an intimidating and upsetting manner. "Oh… Is she your boss, fragrant lady?!" then they giggled again.
Ugh… I'll let Ellena settle this. Well, it's not like I can settle it. Ellena despises these kinds of people.. Therefore, I know her well enough to know how she'll handle this.
