Chapter Book 5 Wrap-up Post
Chapter Book 5 Wrap-up Post
Hi,
Book 5 finished, finally. Ill be taking a nice long break before Book 6. Aiming to restart on RRL 2nd February 2017!
So, this book was by far the most difficult one so far and will require quite a lot of work before I can put it up as an ebook, I think. As well as sorting out inconsistencies and generally smoothing out the writing, I also felt I left Flossie and especially Dudley out of it for long periods. My fault, but hopefully I can fix some of that in post. Some parts may require substantial rewrites, which will be a first for this series.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about the story. As always, I improvised the story from scratch and tried to take it in new directions, but time travel is very tricky, even when you plan it out meticulously (which I didn't), so I may have bitten off more than I could chew.
I also had a number of IRL distractions that didnt help, so there were unplanned breaks and rushed chapters due to unreasonable people (mainly in my family).
So, I think all things considered, the fact I managed to get to an ending is an achievement in itself (and a huge relief) and it mostly makes sense (right?).
There will be no time travel in Book 6.
I also hope to finally write some of the other stuff I planned to do while writing this one (did not pan out). And also to self-pub a paperback collected version of the first three books, including the Princess Laney short story.
So, let me know what you thought of this book. I tried my best not to miss things or be inconsistent all the way through writing it, but I'm sure there are some. Time travel is so messy.
Thanks to all of you for reading and commenting. Especially big thanks to those of you who donated or pledged on my patreon. That money will go towards the book cover for Book 5 (any ideas? Im thinking the jester and her twinkling smile).
Cheers. Back at the beginning of February.

P.S. Oh, yeah, looks like a certain princess is back, wonder how that will turn out!
P.P.S. Any ratings, reviews and follows appreicated. Helps make the story more visible. Cheers.
