Chapter 567 Master Access Card
Chapter 567: Master Access Card
Within a few seconds, Charles and others entered a grand hall filled with beautiful portraits and unique statues and looked around. A large chandelier was hung up in the ceiling, giving bright yellowish light to the surroundings.
Charles also saw a circular table and a few luxurious chairs placed at the center of the hall and moved toward it.
Soon, he moved towards one of the luxurious wooden chairs, pulled back a little, and quietly sat on it. Like him, Jessie, Sylvia, and Marvin also did the same and silently sat around the table.
At that moment, Arayn also flew out from Sylvia's coat and quietly landed at the center of the table.
After that, nobody spoke a word for the next few minutes.
"What are we going to do now?" After a short silence, Silvia looked deeply at Charles and asked.
Meanwhile, Charles tapped his finger on the table and frowned.
"Before that, we need to do some alterations to the Defensive Mechanism Array." Saying so, he turned his gaze towards Sylvia and continued to ask.
"What will happen to Master Access Card when the holder dies?"
"Wait! You are planning on using that to alter the Defensive Mechanism Array? But it's still impossible." Sylvia shook her head.
"I don't think so." At that moment, Jessie thought of something and asked a question.
"Miss Sylvia, can a Tower Master able to create a safe killing zone in this Miracle City without any access card?"
"No. It's impossible!" Sylvia shook her head.
"But we have seen a safe killing zone in Dew Street. The enemy had actually constructed a large array over the mansion and made that place completely isolated from the Defensive Mechanism Array." Jessie said in a solemn tone.
"Dew Street?" Arayn tilted its head in confusion, blinked its eyes a few times, and soon spoke.
"They are using a mysterious pillar to block the array mechanism constantly. Hmm? I saw it when I was on a higher plane once. This pillar is one of the inferior versions of the void pillar used for suppressing an intellectual artifact or divine being's will.
"I tried to get near it in my vision but got myself disintegrated by its repulsive force," Charles spoke solemnly.
"Of course, you would. Even though it's an inferior version of the void pillar, it is not to be taken lightly. Now I understood how they managed to kill Elder Seer without alerting anyone." Arayn said solemnly in the same feminine voice.
Although they had more information about the situation, they still needed to learn how to solve it.
"We need to do exactly like how they killed Elder Seer. But for that, someone has to infiltrate that mansion and take control of that void pillar without alerting the enemy. Or, at least, we need to hack the Defensive Array Mechanism using the enemy's trump card and use it against them!" Charles muttered gravely and looked at Arayn.
"Can you do it? Elder Seer said you are the only person in this whole city who is powerful enough to change our current situation and destroy the enemy's plan-"
"That damned loser! He couldn't even keep his mouth shut when dying, didn't he?!" Arayn made a loud hoot and cursed at Elder Seer.
"You can do that?"Sylvia asked in a surprised tone.
"What can I get in return?"Instead of responding to Sylvia, the owl looked at Charles solemnly and asked.
Before he could ask her, Arayn opened its beak once again and said.
"I'll ask for the payment when the time comes. For now, I'll help you once."
Although he didn't understand what that owl meant, he didn't think much about it.
"You are going to sneak into the enemy's house and steal their trump card?" Sylvia showed a worried look and asked.
Meanwhile, the owl made a hooting noise while flapping its wings and leaped toward Sylvia's shoulder. After landing safely on her left shoulder, Arayn turned its head towards Sylvia's face and added.
"I'm not going to steal anything. I'm only going to alter some of the enemy's plans and return quickly."
Suddenly, it thought of something and added.
"But I still need the Tower Master Access Card to reverse the rune channels in the Defensive Array."
"You mean my teacher's Access Card? But if he died, it should be still in his body, right?" Sylvia suddenly froze and stood up.
"We need to get it before the enemy does!"
"It doesn't work that way." Arayn interrupted her.
"When the Access Card owner dies, it will disappear and reappear randomly anywhere in this city. Although it is difficult for others to search, I know of a way to track down its location in a few minutes." Saying so, the owl closed its eyes and fell asleep.
"... Can we really trust this owl?" Marvin finally broke the silence.
"Do you have another better idea?" Sylvia gave him a cold look.
Meanwhile, Charles waved his hand and spoke to Jessie.
"Jessie, I need your help. From now on, you will be acting alone and sending information about the Destiny Conquerors to me without alerting anyone."
"But how can I find you?"
"No. You don't need to." He paused for a moment and spoke to her telepathically.
"Whenever you found the information of a Destiny Conqueror, think of my face, the information you are going to relay and mutter my name inside your mind. Do it multiple times; I'll learn about it."
"Do you think of yourself as some Godly being-?" Her face abruptly froze.
"Don't tell me you really have the power to achieve that?!" A chill went up her spine.
Meanwhile, Charles smiled mysteriously and spoke.
"Don't worry. I still need a long way to go."
At that moment, Sylvia heaved a heavy sigh and interrupted them.
"Uff! Why are you guys still acting mysterious? Anyway, what's my role in your plan, Mr. Charles?"
Charles thought for a moment and soon formed a plan in his mind.
"You are also a trickster class mystic, right? I actually want you to change yourself into a security officer and stay close to the security captain named John. He has a mysterious blue stone that could nullify any type of time, fate, or luck-based abilities. When the right time comes, I want you to steal it and return it to me. If not for that stone, I couldn't have killed Demigod Raphael in my vision."
"You want to take away all the good stuff enemy has and make them crippled without even knowing it, huh?" Sylvia couldn't help but get more impressed.
"You don't know who that professor guy is. He is a very dangerous man. If I want to beat him, I need to use every advantage I have and act more cautiously. One single mistake, not only you but the whole city will be obliterated." Charles said in a grim tone.
At that moment, a sudden knocking sound came from outside and interrupted their conversation.
Meanwhile, Jessie showed an annoyed look on her face and stood up while grumbling.
"I told them not to disturb us for an hour! I really need to teach some lessons to this bar owner."
While speaking, she arrived in front of the wooden door and opened it slowly.
A moment later, she couldn't help but freeze.
At that moment, she saw not a maidservant but a five-six years old small girl child. She wore a ragged brown gown with sky-blue eyes, crimson hair, and a pretty round face. Although she looked more like a poor child from the slums, her eyes showed something else.
While Jessie was still confused, the young child moved her hands from her back and gave her a unique golden card.
Simultaneously, Sylvia stood up from her seat with a dumbfounded look and shouted.
"It's the Master Access Card!"
