Chapter 168
168 Payback (3)
Seeing the flying humanoid demon was literally flying to get away from the humanoid base, Blake quickly made his decision.
“Cyra! Help me fly!” Blake shouted as he ran towards the little demoness.
“Okay!” Cyra then caught Blake’s running body before creating a huge explosion downward, sending her and Blake flying into the sky.
Just like how Blake was chased by Vera when he glided with his wings, Cyra also used the explosions, which were now stronger using the dark flames to catch up to the wounded flying humanoid demon who was running away from the humanoid demons’ base.
The flying humanoid demon was certainly fast with his wings, but it wasn’t unreachable with the flying humanoid demon in a wounded state and Blake was flying with Cyra and her improved, stronger dark flames.
However, the flying speed of the flying humanoid demon was still not something that Blake and Cyra could easily catch up with due to how the two of them not having wings on their own and relying on a manual way of flying without their bodies being lightened by a wing.
Of course, Blake had already sent his nether through his wings, making his body lighter so Cyra could lift him up easier, but Cyra didn’t have any wings to lighten her body with.
Blake then started to think of ways that he could catch up to the flying humanoid demon faster.
“Cyra, how do I launch myself with explosions? Do I just send nether and create flames near my feet?”
.....
“I don’t know what nether is brother, but if you want to fly then you can’t just create the flames. You need to gather the flames together and then release them all at the same time!”
“And the more you have those flames gathered, the higher you fly and the faster you move!”
Hearing Cyra’s explanation, Blake then began recreating what she said using his hands first instead of his feet as it was easier for him to move and control his upper limbs compared to his lower limbs.
Blake then sent his nether to his palm. But instead of letting it seep through his hands and create a spark of dark flame, Blake kept the nether at the edge of his palm while sending more nether there.
The nether kept on building up and when Blake felt he was about to lose control of the nether in his hands, Blake pushed all of that nether out, releasing all the gathered nether on the same time.
And when he did so, an explosion of dark flames occurred on his hands, pushing him and Cyra even further forward closer to the flying humanoid demon.
“Cyra, when I call it, can you please release a very huge explosion that will propel us forward so fast?”
“I can, brother, but I can’t keep this speed up if I want to do that. I need to gather my flames first if I want to do that.”
“Don’t worry, you can lower the speed momentarily, I have a plan.”
“Okay.”
After hearing Cyra’s confirmation, Blake then began sending his nether to the bottom of his feet, he used all his focus to keep the nether there while pouring in more and more nether until it reached twice the amount of nether that he released with his hands earlier.
“Now, Cyra!”
Upon hearing Blake’s command, Cyra then slowed down her flying a little, releasing explosions with only her hands while her feet were still, gathering as much nether as she could for a few seconds.
Then after that few seconds had passed and Cyra had gathered enough nether that she could barely hold it in her feet, she then released them.
“Prepare yourself, brother!” Was the last thing Blake heard before he suddenly felt the speed that she and Cyra were currently flying in increase tremendously, cutting the distance between the two of them and the flying humanoid demon about a half.
And when Blake felt the momentum of the explosion start to disappear, Blake then finally released the gathered nether beneath his feet, jumped out of Cyra’s hands, and used his wings to adjust his flying so that he would be flying straight into the flying humanoid demon’s direction.
With the explosion beneath his feet about twice as strong as the ones in his hands and added with the fact that he was currently flying alone with his lightened body, Blake’s body quickly flew past the half remaining distance between him and the flying humanoid demon.
And Blake was now only an arm’s distance away from reaching the flying humanoid demon with all the momentum that was pushing his lightened body forward.
It was a small distance away, but Blake still hadn’t succeeded in getting his hands on the flying humanoid demon.
Fortunately, the explosions weren’t all that Blake got in his arsenal.
With that small distance between him and the flying humanoid demon, Blake didn’t waste creating another explosion and instead drew the single darkness tendril spell, aiming at the flying humanoid demon’s feet.
The distance between Blake’s extended hand and the flying humanoid demon’s feet was only an arm’s length, and even the initial appearance of the single darkness tendril spell was longer than an arm’s length, causing the darkness tendril to instantly latch onto the flying humanoid demon’s leg right when it had manifested itself.
The single darkness tendril that was only supposed to be latching onto the flying humanoid demon’s body without causing any other kind of damage, with Blake’s nether carrying the fire elements because of the bloodline power, now had turned to a single darkness tendril that was encased by the dark flame.
Upon the dark flame-cased darkness tendril made contact with the flying humanoid demon, the dark flame instantly spread all over the flying humanoid demon’s body, causing its wounded body to receive even more wounds.
And this time, it wasn’t a type of wound that was a short burst of power that deletes a part of his body. Instead, it was a type of attack that slowly yet surely inflicted pain and devoured all parts of his body, including his wings with dark flames.
Upon feeling the searing hot sensation running all over its skin, the flying humanoid demon tried to roll left and right, increasing his speed, going up the sky, whatever it took for him to get rid of the dark flames that were eating his body.
Unfortunately, the dark flames were not the same type of fire as any ordinary flame, and a simple method of shaking his body to get rid of the flame wouldn’t work. Moreover, the wings that were on fire had lost their original capabilities, turning to a weaker version of themselves if not being completely unusable when the dark flames had destroyed enough parts of the wings.
Even more unfortunate, the one that caused the dark flames to appear on the flying humanoid demon’s body in the first place didn’t seem to have any plans of just letting the little dark flames do all the work.
With the darkness tendrils latched onto the flying humanoid demon’s feet, Blake tugged on the darkness tendril and pulled himself towards the flying humanoid demon’s body with both of his hands spread wide open.
And when his body landed on the flying humanoid demon’s body, Blake closed his hands, getting the flying humanoid demon’s body glued to his.
Yes, Blake was giving the flying humanoid demon a hug.
The same kind of hug that Cyra gave him when they had just met each other for the first time.
