Chapter 180: Emotions
Chapter 180: Emotions
From above the cloud, Xiao Yu and Xiao Fei'er was watching the three men below. Their attention was focused on Wang Ling, they too had sensed the killing intent and bloodlust.
"Fei'er, what is my grandson even doing to possess such dense bloodlust and killing intent. If not for my act of closing the two sect grounds, those annoying bastards would surely have come down to disturb the peace." Xiao Yue was in disbelief although her expression stayed the same as always.
"I appreciate you did mother, Ling'er would have not wanted too much attention and with the level of swordsmanship he just showed, those uncles of the sect would surely have gone to bombard Ling'er to join us." Xiao Fei'er rested her head on her palms.
Sighing, Xiao Fei'er stared at Wang Ling from behind the clouds, "I am his mother but I do not know him that well. Even if I want to get to know him, he is barely by my side as he tends to wander the realm in pursuit of improvement. I am a failure as a mother for this son of mine."
Xiao Fei'er knew of her mistakes. She was not denying it and she was willing to accept them all. But thinking about them was making her feel bad.
"Fei'er, although you have your faults and you have done something wrong in the past you can do nothing in reversing those mistakes. The only thing you can do now is be by his side, support him when you think what he wishes to do is on the right path and reprimand him when he strays." Xiao Yu consoled her daughter.
Xiao Fei'er nodded her head heavily.
Xiao Yu sighed as she asked something unrelated to the current subject, "So, who do you think will marry first? Hong'er or Ling'er?"
=====
Xiao Jianfa brought back his grandchildren to the garden. And as they came back to the back garden, they saw Xiao Yu and Xiao Fei'er were talking happily while Wang Yue and Bai Xue were frolicking by the side.
Xiao Jianfa heaved a sigh of relief for some odd reason.
The meal had already finished and with Wang Ling feeling exhausted, he asked for a room where he could rest. Led by Xiao Jianfa, Wang Ling went to rest in a courtyard nobody use but was kept oddly neat and clean.
Before Wang Ling entered the house and thanked Xiao Jianfa.
Bai Xue returned with him. As she knew that the duel had already finished, Bai Xue was worried about Wang Ling. She had also felt that bloodlust and killing intent, after all.
But seeing that Wang Ling was well, she chose a comfortable place to rest in which happened to be the space between Wang Ling's legs as he sat in a cross-legged manner. She slept, but her monitor on Wang Ling never disappeared.
Wang Ling caressed Bai Xue's fur and showed a smile. He found her presence oddly soothing. It gave him some peace of mind and assurance that someone was with him even after knowing who he was.
[This is odd.] He thought.
Wang Ling stopped his hands from touching Bai Xue's soft and cuddly fur. He then brought out the Bleeding Cloud from his storage ring.
Caressing the blade, Wang Ling slowly had the barrier he put in his mind crumble to pieces. A jolt ran through his mind and body as the Bleeding Cloud emit blinding red light.
Cries emerged from the sword, it hummed as it rejoiced to be held by its creator. They say a sword contains own story and its soul only its wielders could unravel and see.
However, unlike other blades, only Wang Ling can unravel the story and the soul of the Blood Seeker.
The Blood Seeker contains Wang Ling's etched emotion. His pain, regrets, anger, hatred and many other emotions had all joined in the Blood Seeker and bits of these emotions still remain in the sword fragments. He could tell with a look.
Wang Ling could feel it, the emotions that were both a plague and joy. As a fragment of Blood Seeker and Wang Ling was rejoined, his mind began to swirl as a certain memory appeared in his mind.
Sadness, hatred, pain, regret and all of the emotions that had been kept in the sword run through Wang Ling's heart and mind. No sword was as alive as the Blood Seeker. After all, it held Wang Ling's other half and those words were not mere sentiments.
The Blood Seeker did indeed have a piece of Wang Ling and he forged it to be like so. Etching the emotions he had felt when something significant happens so he would not be able to forget and he could carry them throughout his life.
His master had once said that the past was the past and he needed to forget his regrets and look into the future before moving forth without hesitation.
That was the only teaching he received from his master he chose not to accept. The raw emotions he had etched in his sword was a reminder for himself for who he truly was.
It was a reminder that speaks more clearly to him than any words from anyone.
In a life where the path you tread is dyed red in the blood of your loved ones and enemy to the point, you cannot distinguish them any longer.
The emotions he had felt in certain times in certain situations was a reminder for him that no matter what he does and no matter what he achieves in life, he would always be someone who held such a wide variety of emotions.
He needed a reminder that no matter what he achieves, no matter whose life that he saves, and no matter how much he torments those who perpetuated that massacre of the place he once called home.
He, the one they call Blood Seeking Celestial and the man who once stood at the apex was someone who was powerless to stop those bastards from making others leave his side.
It was bitter, it was harsh, and it was painful.
And just like how it always went in the head of the Blood Seeking Celestial all those years ago. Once the Blood Seeker drinks the blood of its target and began to hum, that would be the only time the Blood Seeking Celestial will find a peace of mind.
For he who seeks redemption can only find solace in the same place that started his blood-filled path. He can only find himself in an ocean of blood.
Bai Xue who was monitoring Wang Ling could feel his body trembling.
She did not know what kind of emotions were boiling inside his mind and heart but she could feel the fear and loneliness he was radiating.
She was beside her but could not say anything to him.
But she wanted to show that she would be there by his side.
So, Bai Xue slowly enlarged her body and positioning herself to surround Wang Ling's whole body with her own.
Wrapping her tail and head on Wang Ling, she ever so gently whispered, "I am here."
Wang Ling's body calmed down a little,
