Chapter 245: A New Enemy

Lulu the sand worm flapped its newly grown wings, darting behind the Sand Dune King at incredible speed.

“Get lost!” The Sand Dune King’s tail suddenly swept back, unleashing a terrifying energy shock that directly repelled it. The Sand Dune King didn’t bother further with Lulu’s harassment. As Zhanyue was about to strike the Millennium Tower with his sword, the king intercepted him.

The king raised the golden scepter, and a beam of golden light shot out. Zhanyue nimbly dodged, but where the light touched, the disaster beast fish school seemed to appear as if teleported, devouring everything around.

Zhanyue’s eyes widened. The Sand Dune King still had reserved techniques – he could instantly transport those disaster beasts?

At this moment, Yunyao also broke free from her pursuers and approached the Millennium Tower from above.

“Bastards! You all deserve to die!” The Sand Dune King hurriedly chased after her, blocking Yunyao’s attack.

Thus, Zhanyue and Yunyao continuously attacked the Millennium Tower, while the Sand Dune King intercepted from both sides. However, the Millennium Tower still suffered many impacts from the battle’s aftermath.

Amidst the melee, the Sand Dune King finally adjusted his position, shielding the Millennium Tower behind him. All the disaster beasts also stopped attacking and instead surrounded and protected the tower.

“Again!” Zhanyue and Yunyao attacked simultaneously from the left and right. The Sand Dune King could only block one, leaving the other side to the disaster beasts’ defense.

During the stalemate, a figure darted out from the Millennium Tower. It was Lulu the sand worm, who had somehow burrowed into the tower from underground and climbed up from the bottom, appearing silently behind the Sand Dune King.

Lulu spat out a needle-like proboscis from its mouth, directly piercing the Sand Dune King’s neck. Then its entire body firmly embraced the king, as if they had fused into one. No matter how the Sand Dune King struggled, he couldn’t shake off Lulu. He could feel his flesh and power being continuously absorbed by Lulu.

“Ahhhhh!” Like the previous Desert Worm Clan matriarch, he let out an agonized wail, then began to struggle frantically. The golden scepter in his hand swung wildly, striking his own body, as he crashed around like a headless fly.

“This…” Zhanyue and Yunyao dealt with the disaster beast fish school while observing this scene, unsure how to intervene now.

The nearby Millennium Tower suffered greatly. The Sand Dune King, with Lulu tightly embracing and feeding on him, crashed around blindly, his eyes having lost vision due to Lulu’s neurotoxin. Finally, he smashed hard into the Millennium Tower, directly breaking its main beam. In ancient legends, Gong Gong angrily struck Mount Buzhou and broke the pillar of heaven. Today, though the Sand Dune King couldn’t compare to Gong Gong, he still had enough force to crash into the Millennium Tower.

The two rampaged inside the tower, leaving it in tatters.

“It’s falling!” Zhanyue and Yunyao watched as this sky-piercing tower fell straight down before them, becoming a line dividing the oasis, finally shattering into pieces.

“Good, good!” The people below cheered as they saw the Millennium Tower destroyed. The symbol of tyranny and enslavement had finally collapsed.

Then, all the sand soldiers turned back into sand, and the disaster beasts swam back underground, no longer fighting Zhanyue and the others.

Zhanyue knew the Sand Dune King was dead.

Sure enough, soon after, Lulu emerged from the ruins. Compared to before, it was now covered in a layer of golden armor. After absorbing the king’s power, it had once again evolved through devouring!

“Thank you both so much. Without your help, devouring the Sand Dune King would have been an impossible dream,” Lulu smiled, its originally insect-like body becoming more and more human-like.

“Your help was significant too. By the way, where’s the golden scepter?” Zhanyue asked, remembering their mission was to obtain the divine artifact and then kill the disaster beast. The Sand Dune King was dead, but the disaster beast had escaped.

Lulu waved its hand, and a golden scepter flew into its grip.

“There’s one more thing I need your help with. Then I’ll naturally hand over this scepter to you,” Lulu suddenly said.

Zhanyue frowned. This wasn’t what they had agreed upon, and now it dared to threaten them. “Your words aren’t necessarily trustworthy. Earlier, you said you could only evolve by devouring insect Clans, but now that’s clearly not the case. Or are you thinking of devouring us too?”

Lulu chuckled, “As expected of celestial beings, so clever! Please leave your lives here to help me devour and evolve, transcending realms.”

Yunyao’s face turned cold. This inconspicuous insect that had been so polite and respectful before was now so arrogant. It seemed that after absorbing the insect Clan matriarch and the Sand Dune King, not only its power had inflated.

“You’re courting death!” Yunyao swung her sword, sending out a blade of energy.

“Hehehe.” Lulu suddenly waved the golden scepter, dissipating the sword energy.

It clenched its left hand, then looked at the scepter in its right hand. “So this is the feeling of possessing great power? This is the feeling of wielding authority? Hahaha!”

The golden scepter burst with light, and soon, the departed disaster beasts were summoned back. This time, however, it was Lulu summoning them.

“Unlike the Sand Dune King, I won’t lose my life over a broken tower. I know you’re both strong, but now, are you two still a match for me and the disaster beast combined?” Lulu smiled.

Zhanyue and Yunyao exchanged glances, both feeling the situation had become tricky. Before, it was three against two; now it had become two against two, and Lulu’s strength now surpassed the Sand Dune King’s.

“Is that Elder Lulu? I recognize him. He was originally the youngest elder of our Sand Worm Clan,” someone from the Sand Worm Clan below said.

“Everyone, these two harbor ill intentions. They tricked me terribly. To make you break free from control and help them deal with the Sand Dune King, they even killed our Clan’s matriarch. Now that I’ve gained new power and control over the disaster beast, I can surely restore the oasis to its original prosperity and peace. But before that, please join me in opposing these two outsiders. You wouldn’t want to see them leave with the Life-Nurturing Soil, would you?” Lulu said.

Many people below were half-believing Lulu’s words, but upon hearing about the Life-Nurturing Soil, they all became anxious instantly.
