Chapter 121
Long black hair contrasted well with the ivory white skin inside the icy prison. The lady was asleep but her beauty could not be tarnished even when her eyes were closed.
There was no doubt in Aurora’s mind about who this person resembles. It was the princess of the Northern Republic who had become a part of Aurora’s group.
And yet, when Aurora opened her mouth the name she uttered was completely different. The subtle energy in the air felt familiar to her.
“Clove?”
The soft whisper broke the tense atmosphere inside the icy room. The energy also disappeared as soon as it had appeared.
Aurora quickly shook her head as soon as the ridiculous thought entered her mind. No matter how she looked at the body in front of her, Aurora could see nothing but an adult Natasha.
She did not know why she had uttered Clove’s name when she had entered.
Aurora observed her surroundings but all the room had was ice inside it. The body clasped inside the ice was the only exception to that rule.
“Shall I try to get this body out?”
Aurora tried to create a small divine flame to get the icy body out. The divine flame she created didn’t have an ounce of her power but any ordinary ice would not be able to hold out against it.
But the flame didn’t even make a dent in the ice surrounding her.
This was no ordinary ice.
Aurora decided to approach the icy pillar in the center of the cave to observe but nothing looked out of the ordinary.
Even her system did not identify this ice as anything amazing.
“I don’t know what you wanted me to see, Karan. Why did you send me here?”
Aurora pushed her hand against the icy pillar housing the goddess to support her tired weight.
That was all she wanted to do. But something unexpected happened.
She had not noticed when, but her right hand was clasped in ice as well. And not only that, the ice was spreading over her arm as well.
‘No, the ice is not spreading. I am sinking into the pillar.”
As soon as Aurora realized that, she tried to struggle with all her might. But even if she pulled with everything she had, Aurora was unable to get her hand out fully.
‘Shit. I don’t want to be frozen in the icy pillar. I need a way to get out.’
Aurora struggled with all her might but she was ultimately unable to pull herself out. And she sank into the icy cold prison.
The cold seeped into her body and Aurora closed her eyes to go to sleep.
===========================
Something warm was filling Aurora’s being. It was chasing away the coldness from Aurora’s heart and it also allowed Aurora to breathe easier.
The warmth started to disappear after a while but Aurora did not want it to disappear. Aurora reached out to get a hold of that warmth.
She did not want to face the chilling cold again.
“Hey, easy there. You’re safe now so there is no need to be this hasty.”
Aurora quickly opened her eyes to meet Icy blue ones. The pair of eyes looking back at Aurora looked identical to Natasha.
Was this Natasha who had come to save her? If so, then she has grown.
“Are you alright now? You almost froze in that river. You should be careful since you’re still young. We still don’t know if you possess any of my divinity or not. And Minerva is taking a long time to respond to me as well.”
“But that’s enough about the depressing thoughts. You should cheer up now and face our people with confidence. After all, you are my daughter.”
Aurora felt dazed by that brilliant smile. The land in front of Aurora was like a beaming sun. The golden hair and the blue eyes made the lady look like an angel.
Now that Aurora took a deeper look at the female, she looked nothing like Natasha. The only thing they shared was their eyes.
“I understand, Mother. I will not disappoint you.”
Aurora felt her mouth move on its own. The voice that came out of her throat was not her own.
The body she was in was moving but Aurora quickly caught her reflection inside the mirror.
Long ebony black hair and icy cold blue eyes. Her face looked exactly like Natasha’s but older.
‘No, not Natasha’s. Maybe these are the memories of the person trapped in that icy prison.’
“Queen Kowalski, the preparations have finished. You can step inside the chamber to greet the delegates of the tower.”
“Of course. Natasha, you stay here for now. I will take care of everything. I might be a minor goddess but even my voice counts for something.”
Aurora felt her head nod along but she was not really understanding anything.
All she could make out safely was that she was inside someone’s memories and that she was currently occupying someone else’s body.
Aurora had no control over her body moments and it was irritating. She was like a bystander in a movie. Someone who knew the truth but could not do anything to change it.
Once the elder woman left, Aurora finally felt safe and opened her eyes to look at the maid who had come to inform the queen of the order.
“Medelia, is my mother gone now?”
“Yes, my lady.”
“Finally. Now I can go out and have fun. Don’t tell anyone where I am going.”
“No, my lady wait…”
But Aurora’s body refused to hear any complaints. She quickly jumped down the balcony and disappeared inside the huge crowd down below.
This was a sense of freedom Aurora had never felt in her childhood. Nor had she ever wanted to rebel like this in the first place in her previous life.
If this person had been Aurora, she would have sat tight and enjoyed her time. But the owner of this body had other plans.
She seemed like an adventurous and mysterious person. She was bright and lively as well.
She was someone as far away from Natasha as Aurora had gotten to know in the future. And it made Aurora curious about what had happened.
Why had this cheerful female changed so much in such and what had caused her to become cursed in the first place?
“Natasha, this way. You are finally here.”
“Of course I am. I told you I would be here today and I am not someone who breaks my promise easily. You will keep your end of the deal as well, right?”
“Of course, I will. After all, I promised to make you a goddess as well. I will keep my words.”
Everything In Aurora’s body told her not to turn around but the host body still did.
